Set to be officially launched next month, it's aimed at the Asian market, and is an update on an existing model that's already sold in that part of the world

Yes It is already sold in Indonesia and Malaysia ..and with super KIPS tech ., HSAS and Catcon to reduce pollution, it has undergone EURO II testing ...Due to India's blanket ban on New Two strokers, the Ninja 150RR may not come to India...but a 150cc Two Stroke, producing 30Bhp and a top speed of 140 Kph is too good to be missed...A Two Stroke rider will always remember what it feels like,to be on one.

If two-stroke scooters like the scooty teenz and LML can be sold, I don't see the point in the stupid ban on new two stroke bikes by our government

RTO won't approve it, no matter what emissions it matches. Typical "against 2 stroke" mentality. I think there was some Bajaj 2 stroker which wasn't approved in many RTO's despite it matching emissions regulations. Can't confirm this, but so I heard. (Google "Bajaj Sonic")

Leaving aside the emissions, some consider the 2 strokers to be "cheap power". RX was not famous for real bikers, it was notorious for bank dacoities and thefts. (No offence to RX owners, this is perception of India as whole rather than my own).

I remember when I joined Xbhp in 2007, I started a topic on bringing back 2 strokes, I gained votes too for it, wrote some e-mails too, but sadly nothing could be done about it.

Moreover, we already have Euro III standards here in India, and this Kawa is just upto Euro II till now.

2 stroke is History now.... Kawasaki should bring 150cc 4 stroke Ninja here like Honda & Yamaha are offering performance 150cc 4 stroke bikes..

Couple of friends had these in Singapore. Remember touching 160 on the speedo on one whereas I could do the same speeds with one gear left on the NSR lol.

It is sad indeed that a blanket ban is imposed on two stroke engines..but even more sad ,old two stroke engines are allowed to ply if they pay green tax and are within the old norms of pollution control...for instance my KB 100 which is 25 yrs old has a Co of 1.02 against 4 allowed and Nos+ particles were 2330 against allowed 9300 as per std...In fact the reading I got are nearly equivalent to BS II spec for Four strokers.....
It is the four stroke engine which contributes max to green house gases and the diesels to suspended particulate pollution.
The diesels of to-day are not so bad due to strict implementation and the average suspended particles have come down in most cities.
But we follow rules put down by other countries and do a "follow the leader" march.....
P.S. The fuel efficient Diesel Locomotive in India WDP4 made by GE, and Ocean Liners are powered by Two stroke Diesels.

Well not really Sir; I've seen so many Splendors, Victors & Pulsars emitting white smoke from them. Reason? Poorly maintained vehicle. I really feel sorry for such vehicles that are badly maintained.

PS - You ask those morons on FE, everyone of them will say the manufacturer is claiming false FE. I mean, mistake on them & passing the blame!!!
