Bajaj had tried Fuel Injection in to it's Rear Engine Autorickshaws in Mangalore and had been successful with maintaining the required Pollution under control..they were planning on the re-birth of the 2 stroke bikes retro fitted with this technology....but sadly Govt., did not allow it.....read the contents in the following links...

          thanks for sharing.
and the question remains why do i race?
every finishing line is the begining of a new race.

#i have learnt to manipulate my own adrenaline and the perception of biking is different.
          #overkill is underrated.
#how random roads may appear there is always a destination.sigpic
#i don't subscribe to co-incidence,either it is the rider or the other moron on the road

(:)people keeps on saying add spark to life, bajaj got hold of that idea and added an extra spark to bike.

Quite good to hear BAL ventured into GDI!!! Any reason why the Govt didn't promote?

Whoa! I was actually expecting the GDI on the Pulsar when they blew up the triple spark bomb. Anyways, If the 2S Direct Injection ricks can still clear BS4/BS5, what problem does GOI have (apart from the 3 wheelers providing supreme safety to its occupants)? Maybe they try it on the RE60, a 2S engine will help boost the power output of this engine quite a bit even if they keep the same displacement.

The only issue I can think of is, won't there be lubrication issues? Considering the 2T oil is mixed with the charge in a regular 2S.
Advice is a form of nostalgia.
Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

The Govt., is famous for knee jerk reaction and is never based on technical evaluation, and feasibility.....so what is banned stays banned...
The second fact why BAL is hesitant to promote the Injection is due to the higher costs involved..in Indian rupees it can amount to 20,000/- approximately per vehicle.....though the two stroke engine is much simpler to manufacture and cheaper to maintain...
An Australian company is actually doing it by installing the injection system to the top head, by getting the top head alone removed from the engine, making the necessary mods ,installing a fuel pump outside, which does not need petrol to cool it, and sets up the ECU for the particular engine. For the lubrication a separate oil line into the injector is used.
Who knows the coming years may see the rebirth of the Fuel Injected Two Strokes...
Depends on the Lobbying and profit margins.

Of further interest is the news that KTM had developed an injected 2 troke engine for motocross and awaits approval, and a Spanish company has come out with more innovations....

2 stroke is better than 4 stroke .. someone said 2 stroke is our future ... it can generate more power .. just need high and complex engineering

PSR Ji & Antz - Nice to hear all those points; I only wish the 2S were launched with ECU & FI; I seriously hate the 720 degree firing of 4S (unless its multi, but again, imagine what a 2S multi can do ) but...in this country...do we have a choice?

I don't think 2-strokes 2-wheelers are outright banned in india. Last i heard, tvs was still manufacturing and selling them.

When exactly did this happen? I tried googling but couldn't get the exact order date.

Also, I found this on the TVS website

                            TVS Max 100

                            98cc 2-Stroke 8.2 bhp but just 96kg!!

What? = The blanket ban on 2 strokes.

And for Max 100, my bad. Google directly linked me to that product page. I found out later that this is only part of the TVS international portfolio, not the domestic one. So I guess Max 100 is export only.
