Phew!!! Didn't expect this kind of statement from you

I know.. but there are many optimistic souls around (like always) whose "Instinct" still yells that it might be priced between 2.0-2.5 lakhs.

Anyway, is it confirmed that it would be 500 cc..?? Could well be a 250/300 cc twin.

By the way engine cc is not the only indicator of the final cost but it is more of a function of the complexity of construction and origin (country) of production.

From what I read before, CBR 500's engine is a combination of 2 CBR 250R engines. With Chasis and lots of parts sharing with CBR 250, I think it will be safe to assume the cost of CBR 500 R to be twice that of CBR 250R if it is Made in India like the 250. I think it will be priced around 3.6-4 lacs higher than Ninja 300 and lower than Ninja 650.

Wow it looks more or less like the Fireblade! And 2 lakhs will never happen. Maybe around 4-4.5 lakhs.

Exactly.....For performance they have very big 600 & 1000cc Series bikes.....If Honda plans to make one of these high performance bikes in India..then it would be priced around 4 Lakhs...But since these are meant to be Jack of all, more sensible price makes sense... Atleast in my Opinion...

When a single cylinder CBR 250R costs 1.6 Lakhs OTR, a twin cylinder CBR 500R doesn't have to cost double...

seriously do people really think these 500cc bikes will be priced in the same price bracket as the 250R abs? Really? If that happens the 250R ABS owners will have to shoot themselves in the head .. myself included :P
If the bike is locally produced Honda will still price it at 3.5-4 lakhs OTR..

The pics for these bikes were flowing around the internet, facebook etc since few days now. Its good to hera that Honda finally launching twin cylinder bikes. But a 500cc producing just 46 bhp when we have CBR250 producing 25bhp. Not convincing to me. It should have produced atleast 50 - 55bhp. Anyways these bikes won't be bought by the people looking for average. Rather than launching a 500cc twin, why not produce 600RR in India within a price bracket of 6lakhs. I guess that makes more sense. If these bikes are launched, expect them to be around 4.5 - 5 lakhs. So why not go for N650 with an additional 1 lakh?

R6 and the 600RR's are for some reason not homologated in India yet.
Hence the absence of the R6 and the 600RR. Plus the price for the two mentioned models will almost be around the 9 lakh mark, hence it isnt viable for any company to import these 600 supersports.

A teaser has appeared, which shows 12 November, (approx 2:30 PM Indian Time) as a time for some Honda launching/ unveiling.

Could it be these next gen machines? And why 6 motorcycles, I wonder?

As for the price of CBR 500 series, let me remind you guys that cost is not the big factor here. The profit or returns on their investment HMSI expect is. It can be 2-2.3 Lacs ex-showroom easily if they want. A lot depends on the Management's decisions, and not so much on variable cost. It is not my optimism. Remember, CBR 250 required enough research, and look what price we got it for.

You can't apply import rules, if it would be made here. Nor can you compare it to supersports which have research work expense to pay for. And the current rumors (two cbr engines bolted on, parts sharing, etc.) aren't too encouraging for a big price tag either.

And which guy said that 500cc bike, means twice the price of CBR250? So, will I get total 4 tyres too? will I get 2 frames? or 2 crankshafts? How about 2 full-consoles? Think guys, think!

There are rumors doing rounds that Honda is going to discontinue the 600RR lineup from this year end owing to poor sales and global economy crisis. Only a few 600RR's will be produced for track homologation in the US and European countries.
They also say this might be the last year for the R6. For what its worth its a rumor now.
