    What's Hot:

    500 cc: Thumbs Up
    Twin Cylinder: Thumbs Up
    ABS: Thumbs Up

    What could have been better:

Styling: Slightly outdated by 5-4 years
Frame: Should have gone for a Perimeter Frame

at 3-3.5 L this will be a decent buy.A simple bike with minimal ambitions.

Basic box section swing-arm and single rotor up-front , talks simplicity and cost-cut. No exotic bits. Just following CBR 250.

ABS very much expected as its already in 250. Exhaust should have looked better with a mat black finish rather than chrome.

It will still have an advantage over Ninja 300.with few more ponies and nice torque advantage. But both may have similar top speed . Ninja 300 will be in a different class with much modern looks and equipments like slipper clutch.

Yes both bikes have different purpose, but just like zx 636 with added volume N300 now may have better muscle in mid range.

Maybe,, just Maybe people who buy them look for practicality and maintaining it economically in this era of eversoaring gas price? As a member of the 250R intl forum, i see atleast 2 people on a weekly basis selling off or buying smaller secondary bikes for everyday errands and saving up moolahs on fuel and annual maintenance.

This is a very good example of cost cutting. The components are really low performance pieces. The fairing panels are so plain jane. Simple surfacing and cutting. This then is how economic slowdown looks like!

Lesst than 16 hrs to go before the unveiling !

There is no news about a India launch

I'd be swayed away from the Duke 390 if the CB500X lands at our shores!!

As compared to the Race Replicas that we see. Here you can see the forks, the disc, the tyres are not the hardcore race spec. But anyways high performance for us guys who are used to riding 200-300cc bikes.

What will we do with Race Replica bikes with hardcore race spec suspension and all the other gizmodry when most of our roads are like this...

                    AND

                    And *not* like this ...

You are right my friend. We definitely don't need race replicas. All we need is off-road bikes! Let's ban superbikes in India!!

well i dont feel like to trust it.. its still over 3 hours left for the bike to break the cover.. How can they estimate the price so soon??

ANd as per the specs.. it feels like those of amplified karizma.. Bigger cc but lesser HP. making it a perfect touring machine..

Even Kawasaki has had to resort to reducing the size of the fairings to 3/4th. It not just saves on cost, but it also helps in heat dissipation in city traffic, thereby increasing efficiency of the engine. Yes you do lose the "style" factor in the near future.

Its a CBRxyz-R not a CBRxyz-RR. RR's are Race Replicas.. and like i posted about a rumor going a few days ago, it could be that Honda may have decided to stop production of the 600RRs for the near future

3 and a half hours to go for the unveiling. Any guesses what the other 3 bikes are (apart from the P2 500cc Trio of CBR500, CBF500 and CB500)?

I feel at least 1 of them could be the long awaited CRF250. The other 2 could be a 500cc and a 250cc cruiser.

Dispensing it is a way of fishing the past from the disposal, wiping it off, painting over the ugly parts and recycling it for more than it's worth.

Not that we don't need super/hyper bikes, we do need more of the adventure variety bikes with high GC and yet enough juice to scare you shitless!

Something like the KTM 990 SM T, Suzuki Bandit V Strom! *sigh* ... waiting for the day when we Indian's look beyond the 'dhoom machale' bikes :/
