Well, one thing I feel we are missing out is that HMSI is still new in the market, they have lesser dealers compared to the competition, so they are adding more and more dealers in small towns and I feel this is where the extra numbers are coming for HMSI.

What is it that u r trying to say? Ur french doesn't make much sense to me.Originally posted by mohsihummeru are fools.
if u want storage go get urselves one of those side mounted containers.
or buy a pink scooty.or get a brain and buy a bag.
for god's sake ,what's ur age?
semms <10yrs.....if u want practicality, buy a scooter.
.....................................
that's why pulsars are reputed as un-reliable.
and as for the pencil in the fairing, if ur pant can't hold a pencil,
then u better shove it up ...............
it's cause of guys like u that we have a saree guard on the r1.
the reason bajaj sells is due to low spares cost and hype.

Is this the reason u bought the P220? P220 is a good bike and that's it...nothing more than that!!! And please, dont talk this crap about allowing "other" companies monopoly...this would be the stupidest of the most stupid reasons to buy a bajaj!!! They make good bikes, no doubt...I feel like owning a P220 sometimes when i see it neat and clean and shiningOriginally posted by caravikiran View PostThink from a broader perspective - we as a country should grow - allowing manufactures from other countries enjoy monopoly in our country is not going to help us grow !!
Having said that, competition is surely beneficial.
But then, see Unicorn, u might dismiss this bike as "boring"...that's alright. But u see, Honda made it that way...perfect combination of power, comfort and efficiency in a 150cc engine!!! no other bike in this category is as balanced!!!
that said, bajaj makes good bikes!

Hey bro, i partially accept with few of your points, but not all of them...
Agreed that Uni's low end torque is lesser than Pulsie, but not that bad that you can't manage bad traffic.Originally posted by nightwing View PostAmidst the wilderness of Indian traffic,you need more torque low down turning the wheels to get out of the them every now and then.
More torque everywhere means you change gears less and the bike can pull away from anywhere easily.
Sorry boss, i can't buy this, Uni's head-lights has got very good spreadNow consider the headlights,Bajaj's bike have brilliant illumination while their Jap cousins Gladiator and Unicorn feel like they have a candle instead of a headlight.
Agree with your point, don't wanna argue on thisThe space between the console and the visor in Bajaj's bikes is good enough for keeping a book or two. The Yamahas(barring the R15)cannot hold a pencil between in that space.
Uni's mono-shock does very good job and its got excellent balance around the corners...You need suspension that soaks bumps not amplifies them so that you can corner quickly and crash.
Its not about getting offended, i do admit Uni also has some flawsP.S.: I seem to get an impression that you took my statement personally and against your new Unicorn. Trust me,my respect for Japs is immense,especially the Unicorn. But that cant change the truth can it? I too,am looking to buy a bike soon and if I had my way (and money) then I would get the Unicorn with my eyes closed.
, but tell me which bike doesn't have any flaws and is in perfect condition

If you dont remember FZ and RTR(in class of 150s and even 180s) are made for this...and are considered to be more good performance wise than the pulsars...!!Originally posted by nightwing View PostAmidst the wilderness of Indian traffic,you need more torque low down turning the wheels to get out of the them every now and then.

Agree to this part some bit...but the headlight of the FZ is pretty powerful and moreover if anyone wishes to they can always upgrade to a better bulb without any much hassels to the bike..!!Originally posted by nightwing View PostNow consider the headlights,Bajaj's bike have brilliant illumination while their Jap cousins Gladiator and Unicorn feel like they have a candle instead of a headlight.

You look to be more towards Bajaj.
I dunno whether your points are valid here or not...as this is not a Bajaj vs. others thread..!! And i just replied to your points..

I never said the Pulsar was better than the Uni/xtreme/hunk/Fz/RTR,except perhaps in practicality.
Consider the overall package,bhaiya. It's available at a much cheaper price as compared to the Fz and RTR. Why should the common man go for a higher priced product when he is getting more or less the same qualities in a lower priced product? And I am stressing on Common man here. Not us all folks here.
Will I buy the P150? Simply put,No.
P.S.: A person who has openly abused both the Bajaj and Yamaha officials in public is anything but biased. That's me.Last edited by nightwing; 01-09-2009, 05:51 PM.sigpic

My view point was just that the examples you quoted were not in support Bajaj bikes as some good features are offered by others too..Originally posted by nightwing View PostThe above points were made by me to explain to a fellow member about how practical Bajaj bikes are.

If Price difference is the factor..!! Then its hardly 4-5 K...!!Originally posted by nightwing View PostConsider the overall package,bhaiya. All ex-showroom prices
Pulsar 150 -> 58,800
RTR -> 64,900
FZ-16 -> 65,000
So, if a person is getting some additional functionalities in another 4-5K then that guy should go in for the performance bikes..
But, if you go at any rural areas then you will find more of passion(s) and spelndor(s)..!! This is so bcoz those ppl only know abt these HH bikes(Though these are in category of 100-125cc but still gives a fight to Bajaj in rural areas) which offer 65 - 70+ mileage..which the pulsar always lacks..!!
And to add to this a common man would first look at price, mileage and then maintenance...!! The "CC" factor does not matter to him...!!

But that doesn't seem to happen,does it? I dont know about other states but UP is full of P150s. Be it rural or urban,the P150 completely dominates in numbers.Originally posted by inder.cool View PostIf Price difference is the factor..!! Then its hardly 4-5 K...!!

We have this thread running only because Bajaj bikes numbers have gone down drastically when compared to its competitors.Originally posted by nightwing View PostBut that doesn't seem to happen,does it? Nobody is questioning Pulsars practicality, If pulsar wasnt a good bike BAL wouldnt have been where they are now. The question mark however is on the Q word.... Quality. Bajaj bikes are cheaper, parts are inexpensive perhaps, but they break down more often than others. When Bajaj started its premium bikes it dint have any major competition other than HH. HH was numbero uno then, it still is now... just that there are others who have jumped in, the Q word has become the criteria. Bajaj has slipped for 2nd month in a row, looks like trend is continuing. It will be interesting to see what will BAL do it recorver. Bail out package from govt????
Its heartening to see yamaha put up some good numbers, they deserve it.
