      Yes. There is a difference.
The Carb one makes 26 hp on the crank - the FI one makes ~33 . You can verify the specs on the respective country sites.

^If you don't mind, proof please!
Do you know the US carb ninja could rev upto 15k rpm before it hits the rev limiter! and you say it makes only 26 hp on the crank??

As I was teasing real life friends who bought Ninja 250 recently.

All those who purchased in late 2012 & start of 2013 must be have some different feelings :P

Your absolutely right..I am one of them
but I'm getting more inclined towards naked styling of the Duke 390, which would also have the various information display on the console along with ABS, so i'm changing my ride anyway

read the link through please.. But it is OT anyways. If you have any contrary proof that the carb Ninja is not 26 bhp, do let this mango abdul know.

P.S: Revving till 15k or 16k is not an indication of the HP.

That is most likely the power at the rear wheel that they have mentioned and not at the crank. Why do I think so? Go to the 2nd page of the comparison in the link you yourself gave and read the 4th paragraph. It mentions "This high-rpm performance is a defining trait for use on the racetrack and the CBR falls a bit short in outright horsepower as well (22.6 vs. 26.3)." No we all know that CBR250 makes 25bhp at the crank and they mention 22.6bhp. So, we can safely assume that MCUSA guys have mentioned the power at the rear wheel for both motorcycles.

carb N250 makes 31.8 HP and FI makes 33

Have anymore xbhp members gone ahead and booked the 300? As far as I know usman_imazz, Arsenic, 747anwar (ownership thread starter ) and I are the only ones who have booked.
From what I've heard (courtesy Arsenic) Mumbai (Kanjurmarg & Vashi) alone have a booking of over 40 bikes and deliveries are expected in the last week of May. For an expensive bike, the showrooms are certainly getting good numbers.

So if Ninja 650 is to be thought then one has to think about following:
                              1. Dimensions of the bike, Ninja 650 is bigger in size than Ninja 300, which means height limitation some where for people.
                              2. 1.8L extra money.

Most of the people are thinking Ninja 300 is too much priced, so shelling more 1.8L would be a hard task.

Some where I feel Ninja 650 and Ninja 300 comes in different category, One is sports bike and other is Sports tourer.
So choosing segment of people are also different.
I said makes more sense, VFM wise...I never said the 300 at that price is not worth it. The price is understandable since they don't manufacture it here. For an enthusiast who's willing to spend over 4L, the 650 will sure cross his mind, that's what I intended to say.
And also note the difference of prices in different cities, that's what I was loathing about
It all begins with a thumb-start -- Oh, wait, I forgot the kill-switch

That was what was told to me by the guys at KTM and to the few others I hav interacted with. I am presuming this waiting period of over a month includes buffer time.
