Who said that? AFAIK, on their first day, they booked over 50. even before the bike was available for test ride, their numbers were almost a 100 and on the day they started test rides, it came up to 100. That was nearly 2 weeks ago. Do you think kanjurmarg has more?

Also, I have visited both showrooms and have found the Vashi one better. The best among the 3, IMO.

Hello dr.mayanksingh,
(Once again, for 5738th time ) Please go through these:

Indian Gasoline Specification by Auto Industry in India.

The vendors themselves know nothing. Always refer back to the official website to get authentic information.

I don't think much importance should be given to reviews of test rides, like from day 1 and from 0 kms the bikes have been tested just for power, just imagine when we get our new bikes we never do it. Whatever u say any new bike needs a few hundred km's of settled rides but these test bikes are under pressure from day 1

If there is a Knock sensor in the D390 then you don't have to worry about Petrol RON and knocking...the ECU will adjust the timing according to necessity and keep the engine from pinging...
Let a few bikes be delivered and used ..then we can "TRY" to understand it...

What the D200 riders seem to miss is the low end torque. When they pretend to ride the bike like grandpa and put the bike in 6th gear at low speed and twist the throttle, they find the pull missing. Worse still, the bike even seems to knock due to the combined effect of lower mass flywheel, over-bored configuration and taller gear ratio.

Thus the D200 trumps the D390 on the grandpa test.

Keep it coming Dude..Didn't expect anything better ...If that makes you happy LOL..

The mystery surrounding the *way duke 390 produces its power* has been amusing so far. The damn thing has been turned into an effing rocket science! People, it seems, have forgotten to relax. How does it matter in the end when the motorcycle's going to give you the biggest grin filled ride compared to any other motorcycle that didn't burn a deep hole in your pocket?

Just to be sure , though, we're
A) Not talking about top speed
B) Not talking about 0-100
C) Not talking about the Lightweight rideability
D) Not talking about speed in general (because the general consensus is that other bikes feel slow after riding this bike)
E) Not talking about torque figures which control how the bhp is put down (35 vs 19)

But we're talking about some quasi-mythical "HOW" which is distinct from everything else that this motorcycle actually DOES.

DO correct me if i'm wrong anywhere. Love to be pointed in the right direction.

PS : I'm reminded of the feeling of righteous indignation i felt in the Sydney 2008 test. Loving how this bike is able to access the deepest recesses of our (my) heart.
Cheers.

If it is MG's profession to post the reviews and if he has been asked to hold it, then he might be having professional obligations to give you the reason.

It is tough to go through the waiting period when you have already booked the bike. Not just xBHP, even other portals were told to hold the review. Have little patience and enjoy your waiting period. What ever the delay or the reason it must be good for the customers who are getting this bike.
Please read my post again. I did not ask when he's posting the review. I asked if there was any reason for ppl to be concerned about something being held back. No matter what, as a community member it would be a responsible thing to do to let us know if there is a serious problem with the bike than letting our hard earned money go rouge. Not asking for a detailed analysis, read the quotes in my post.

Look elsewhere is a pretty strong statement. What are the other options to provide you better acceleration/punch/rush which you have been complaining about ?
N650 ? GT650R ? R1 ?

Those booking the D390, my humble request-
Do not, I repeat do not become bullies on the road just because you can. It has great power as someone said with great power comes great responsibility.
So please respect other road users when you ride it.
"Bullies"? That my friend is not the appropriate term to generalize such enthusiastic young men... You should be more sensitive to such people, haven't you learnt anything in tolerance classes?

"Mindless Zombies" would be more politically accurate!

No, no, don't thank me,... just doing my job...

I honestly don't know what all the commotion is about and I'm too lazy to go and check it out... So a fresh start, here we go...

Test rode the 390 today and by God the torque is phenomenal. It just keeps pulling and pulling and 120 came up staggeringly fast on a wee bit straight. The top end just keeps hurling you backwards even at 120 kmph at the twist of the throttle. Getting back on my N250 just made my bike feel very docile. That right there shows that the 390 is going to be a rather unforgiving bike if you do make a mistake on it. Didn't like the low weight of the bike though, its unstable at speeds at the slightest bumps on the road. I rode it on a uneven flyover and let me tell you it scared the crap out me. It was like a wild horse just trying to get away from you. In short...

Initial Impressions
But if you really wanna know, I found the seating posture and its comfortability to be suspiciously identical to a dining room chair I have.
