Went to Indiranagar yesterday and BTM-KTM showroom on Saturday.
No test-rides yet in both the places whereas we know test-rides started in so many other places. All blamed RTO for approval.
Its sad that Bangalore being the highest tax paying city with highest KTM bookings still has no test-rides.

One version I heard is the probability of them offering black alloys as part of Power Parts. I'd ignore that as a "rumour" for the time being.Originally posted by sundarvignesh View Post

And this is how things went..
Great writeup man....my thoughts exactly except for the fact that I never bought the duke 200 but got mesmerised by the duke 390 and now going to file a divorce at the KTM showroom soon with my beloved Pulsar 200.

I took a test ride yesterday of the 390 at KTM South Mumbai. There were no starting issues, although it took me a while to figure out the the rev band. It is placed higher than the rev band on the 200.Originally posted by 'nYsus' View PostLeave a comment:

Took a test ride today of D390. The bike refused to start at multiple times. The showroom guy says it is specific to the test ride model, and wont be a problem with others. Did others find the same problem? And what all major issues are being highlighted now? Would like to know.

The ktm guy sitting pillion to me on the D390 was gasping for breath in the rains. Mad surging power, that is what it is. The only issue i think might rise later, is that even with two people sitting on it, the vehicle is effing light as a feather. So if you are cruising at greater speeds, the bike might not stay as put as say p220. Other than that,

As I said both the bike are like twins wearing different clothes. The first change you notice is the orange rims and the orange frame. And the paint quality looked very good. You even get KTM handguards standard on the 390. Something that costs around 5k for the 200 as an accessory . Come close and you notice the new decals, the bar end weights and a slightly bigger engine. It was a bit sad to see the bend in the exhaust pipe from the engine between the fame inorder to house it within the bigger engine and limited space. Now your eyes starts to wander for more changes and you notice new shoes on our lady. The 390 comes with Melzeller Sportec tyres . Both tyres are of same size as in the 200 duke , but they cost nearly double. A set costs a whooping 22 thousand. You then notice some wires exposing out of the frame , which lets down you a bit ,

The power of the bike is the first thing you notice that has gone significantly a lottttttt higher than the 200 duke. But another thing you will notice is the stopping power of the bike has also become much better than the 200. The major improvement is the front discs are now 300mm compared to the 280mm ones in the 200 duke. The rear discs remain the same on the two bikes. But the biggest improvement is the addition of ABS. Try to brake as much as hard you want and the wheels never lock up. I tried all my effort in braking as much hard as I could but the bosch technology fought back with ease. I was riding on a really wet slippery road still the brakes were too much good that you had a feeling of safeness on the bike. I really became a fan of the abs on the duke and I an eagerly waiting to fit it on my 200 duke somehow.

Got a bit of reliable info from the showroom friend. There has indeed been a meet of Bajaj officials, but not mainly regarding 390. It is the info that 390 is being rectified of the heat issue and also the fuel injection system by Bosch. He says it is all for the betterment of the customer. We can expect the delivery in August, but he had no strong info on the date range. Waiting...Leave a comment:
