Wow, I just saw this video of D200 in Malaysia doing 165 KMH!
The guy says the bike has a stock sprocket and the only change is there's no ECU cut off. At 165 kmh he would be doing around 12,150 rpm.

Damn, that's D390's top speed... I had no idea this 200cc motor is THAT capable.

If you put shorter gears on D390 and remove ECU cut off I bet D390 could push it pretty close to 200 kmh. Those tall gears right now don't allow the bike even to reach its peak power in 6th gear.

How are the service intervals spaced? Also, what's the oil change frequency.

    Thanks, enjoy, bro :-D

Exactly! It's not 5k rpm as the dealer has told you but 7.5k rpm. You don't want to baby your bike during the run in, it's not good.
Don't worry about the engine, it's really "Ready to race" straight out of the showroom!
I redlined my D200 5km out of the showroom few times (not intentionally, it just hit the rev limiter so quickly during few overtakings that I didn't even realize what happened), and have finished my run in in only 200 km, and now I have a great performing bike, easily hits the rev limiter in 6th at 134 kmh every single time.

I'm not saying you should redline it now during run in, but definitely take it to higher revs for short times, it'll be good for the engine.
I'm pretty sure your biggest problem will be you won't be able to take that crazy grin off your face!

Btw, sounds from you like the heating issue has been solved? That would be great!

As for saddle and non-magnetic tank bags, check www.rynoxgears.com. Excellent quality.

Enjoy bro and looking forward to more details from you!
Probably better if you open a new KTM Duke 390 ownership thread in ownership section...

OK, came back after a 100k+ kms ride (25+40_35+17!! I am strictly playing by the rules right now, not over 5000rpm for the first 1000kms (as recommended by the ktm guys).

got my bike at 5pm and it had just done 7kms,a quick briefing ,clicks and i was on my way to the fuel pump, got a tank full of 97Octane. it's been raining crazy in pune, so my todays first ride review is all in the rain....

under 5k rpm in 6th gear, the bike does 90+, so running in wont be too boring, took me 10-15kms to get used to the gearing, i was downshifting to late , went showing it off to a few friends and then a good 40 kms highway stretch..the brakes are good, suspension is just right, not stiff nor very soft, no heating issues, well within range.i like the sound, the faster the better, it's quick, overtaking is a piece of cake, but if you dont shift up at the right rpms the bike will struggle a little to pick up. I honestly wasnt trying anything funny in 1st&2nd gear but 3rd and 4rh are too much fun, dint really explore 5th and 6th at length due to the restrictions. need i mention, the tyres are awesome!

not so good:- headlamps, need brighter ones for sure.the chain is a little to tight, will take it for a quick adjustment tomorrow.a little plastic chatter i heard over potholes.

cant wait to get the Tyre hugger and the saree guard off. Monday or tuesday the bike goes back to the dealer for registration, i can take em out after.

duke 200 owners suggestions on good saddle bags please?

time to sleep, have to get up early for an all day ride!!

They giving to bikes only to those who are first in the booking queue of their show room (Token No.1). Even here in Bhopal the guy who made the first booking from Raisen Road - KTM got his bike on the same day when its got launch(23-Jul-2013).
