came back from a 200kms ride today, to panchgani around pune, no heating issues what so ever.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

i got 28kms per litre from my first full tank, total range 250kms before the "f" symbol came on with 45 kms as an estimate of the range left...so iam guessing on full 11 litlres, we should get close to 280kms...

i was pulling upto 6krpm in 3,4,5,6 gear and man the bike flies, the exhaust note sounds nice, did 130 while overtaking an sx4, otherwise was riding between 90-120 kms all day.

    ----consecutive posts auto-merged-----

Since i was riding in the rain the whole day, came back home, washed the bike, cleaned the radiator, oiled the chain/sprocket...total 350kms done.
Music to the ears. Thanks, bro. Enjaay :-D

Joel.r, In Mumbai, I'll be paying Rs 2.06 L on-road. The insurance is zero-dep, else it would have been around Rs 2.04L according to what I hear from other showrooms.

Can we have the Xbhp review now please ? The lucky guy from Pune has ridden his bike for 350 km in 2 days and hasn't reported any heating issues. So it seems Bajaj has fixed the major issues before delivery, as expected. So the reason for holding up the review should no longer be valid now! Let us have some nice pictures & write-up

Getting a 2 wheeler loan seems to be almost as difficult as getting an xbhp review of the bike!

I had applied for loan on the 26th itself from babaj finance by submitting the required docs. No calls from anyone so far, and i doubt i will get any, as getting a loan as a self employee is difficult then getting a passport. I guess the thread seems to be going a bit OT here so getting back to 390, i managed to get a decent test ride of the bike.

Got a mail from KTM Indiranagar that there is a test ride camp organized at KTM marathahalli for sat/sunday (for the people who have booked). Went there on the sunday afternoon and stood in Q after the formalities. There were about 10 people head of me half of them 200 owners upgrading to 390. took more then an hour before i got my change. chatted with most of the guys after they finished their test ride, and all of them were mighty impressed with acceleration, handling, braking etc, including the 200 owners. the organizers were polite and enthusiastic, and the good part being, there was no pillion attached to the test rides. Later i heard, the reason being ,one of the reps almost fell off the bike as pillion.

Coming back to the test ride, we got a good stretch of road, with hardly any traffic. the bike was being ripped by all the test riders. Still there was not much of engine heat. weather was cool and cloudy with occasional light drizzle, as usual of Bangalore. sitting on the bike, the seat height, handle bar position felt fine. However, i was left searching for the foot rest. the clutch pull felt just about right, and the gear was engaged with nice assurance. Accelerated slowly, as i was not sure what to expect from a 43 bhp bike. took about 200 mts to acclimatise with the controls, and started playing with it. Playing as it felt like a toy. a very light and fast toy. the bike accelerates like crazy. its so rev happy, urges one to test their limits, rather then the bikes. 50 comes in no time in the first gear. doubt if 4,5,and 6th will be used in the city conditions. the braking felt sharp and sure, really confidence inspiring. tried running it slow in 5 and 6, but thats not the bike's forte. starts lugging and begs to be revved. Tried some hard breaking, but could not manage to engage the abs. ( guess did not brake hard enough, as the guy testing before me warned me to use caution while braking). handling felt sweet and nimble. did not feel any unwanted vibes. In just about 2 kms i was already feeling at home with the bike.

VERDICT: i am NOT cancelling my booking. pretty happy with the test ride, and looking forward to the delivery.

DISCLAIMER: for the last 6 years, i have been riding only Enfields. A classic 500 for last 3 yrs. So obviously my experience with the test ride is somewhat related. For eg, hunting for the foot rest on the 390. Also, i will have to adapt a bit, learn and un-learn some to ride in the 390, as its so very different from what i am used to riding. But i feel the transition is going to be smooth and quick.
coming to some points which might be helpful to fellow bulleteers. This is not a comparison per say, but just my feelings. The 390 feels light like a toy. the 390 feels more then twice as fast the c5. the 390 is as still as stork compared to the bulls. 390 felt as refined as extra virgin olive oil. much precise in braking, handling, cornering etc. Will have to munch some miles to get a more realistic idea, but from the test ride, aal izz well.

Thanks bro, Will keep that in mind. They also said they wil wave off the charges, will make sure i take that in writing as well.

    Upto 4 Year repaying time,
and no charge on pre payment.

    (No Hidden charges)

Only Govt sector bank which can give you bike loan for more thn 1 lac, Rest of the bank pay limited amount for Bike loan upto 70k maximum,
while canera bank gives you upto 70% of the bike value.

go for it, cheapest and best.

ROI will be Near by 13% on reducing. (approx 9% fix)

What PVT banks do, they take Interest even if you Pay the loan

i.e. they charged Rs. 30000/- for 3 year for 100000/- lac. as 10% fixed.

Even if you're paying a EMI of Rs. 3610/- for 1 year.

after the year Loan amount will Remain at Rs. 86680/- (130000-43320).

for next year they has to charge 10% of Rs 86680/- but they don't do, and they deduct the amount of Base loan amount of Rs. 100000/- as Rs. 10000/- instead of Rs 8668/-

Little weak in English, Sorry if you can't understand
The intrest rates seem attractive, Will check out with them tomorrow morning

I am sure most of them won't have valid PANs or other docs. Or may be these folks don't need a loan anyway, awash as they are with money gotten out of land sold to government for various projects. The customers I see walking in/out might have walked in/out to open lockers or deposit gold jewellery in them. I see most of these folks, men more than women, flaunting 'mota' gold chains and bracelets, the shirt unbuttoned at the top, to aid the flaunting
These guys are only intrested in providing loans to the "Old" customers. For new customers they were not intrested in even talking. Really hated there attitude. They were getting a customer and they were least intrested whereas private banks i visited were running around trying to sell loan.

Buddy, the bike you will get on the spot was supposed to go for a guy who booked it and is waiting for it. These are the routine tactics used by showroom guys to make that extra money. Just be little patient and you will get the bike.

I know its tough to wait because I also want my bike on/before the Eid and my birthday which might fall on same day.

PSU banks have an unwritten rule, if you don't have grey hair, bald head, paunch, children or any combination thereof they don't like dealing with you. Their attitude is at best condenscending or rude at worst.

On a one year loan difference between PSU loan and Bajaj Finance loan is ~4k. I think that 4K is worth for the smooth processing experience. I have a HDFC car loan and there was no issue dealing with them.

Perosnal Loan (if interest rate is equal or lesser than other options) >Two Wheeler loan from non-PSU>Two Wheeler loan from Bajaj Finance.
I would not completely agree with PSU banks.

It was lot easier for me to get a car loan from State Bank of Hyderabad than the private banks. All the process was very clear because there is no one between me and the bank. I had to do all the dealings (of course I had to be in the bank for 6 hours, but hey got a good deal).

Always go for PSU first if it is not clear then you can approach private banks.

Any how, coming to the Duke 390. At Hyderabad test rides have been there since more than 2 weeks. Not clear about the delivery of the bikes and my booking number is in single digits and I am bike-less since 6 months.

the wait is growing impatient now

Jumping the queue. Paying a bribe basically to get ahead in line of people (some xbhpians too among them). Gloating about it online. Way to go
    Enjoy your Duke.

Yes, I agree. It is asking for too much. That it can do 165 itself is a great thing and that too if one crouches and manages to take the 6th to the rev limiter, which too if the road is excellent and absolutely straight without any crosswinds.

just one question, to me it looked like that in the flat areas he was able to do 140 km/h only and only on the downhill stretch he went past 140 and did hit the 165km/h
    did you also see that?

May be. The preferable rates I mentioned above are a result of corporate tie ups.One of the few benefits of working for a large MNC/Indian corporate

Kiirus guys made their ECU for D200 available straight after D200 launch (with extra 3 hp), and I wouldn't be surprised if we have a ECU remap for D390 from them very soon. And D390 being a truly international bike - there'll be aftermarket performance options all over the world like mushrooms after rain! Good times ahead for bike lovers...

So Bangaloreans have to call up all KTM dealers to know where the test bikes are located :-D

On the issue of loans, I would suggest going for a personal loan from a private bank if the rate offered is competitive. HDFC personal loan quote and the Finance option quoted at the showroom were the same for me. Personal loan would be better (in this scenario) because you can avoid hypothecation.

I am not keen on PSU banks. I had an Educational Loan with Canara Bank for 7 year term. Closed it within four years mainly because they could not even clear my EMI cheque!!
