Yes continental tyres on the cbr are awefull they lack grip and doesnt even give confidence on corners.
Continental tyres are good for only splendor or passion type bikes not beyond that.

I don't know, I touched them and compared them with MRFs, and they are much softer everywhere, even in middle. I really, really doubt they will last anywhere close to MRFs.
It's a fact that people have to take into account - D390 won't be cheap to own. Spares for Duke are cheap, kudos to Bajaj for that, but many future owners will be scratching their heads when they see they have to shell out another Rs 22-25k after 10-15k km...
And because of much stronger acceleration on D390 compared to D200, MRFs won't be as grippy on D390 as they are on D200. If someone is thinking of cost cutting...
If one rides his D390 in a more relaxed way then I think MRFs will be perfectly fine on D390. But not if you're pushing it, especially in wet...

In the Sportec M5 link, it is mentioned that the tyre softness linearly changes along profile, so what he meant makes sense & also it is a road tyre & not meant only for tracks. Bro I researched the tyres extensively on the net. AFAIK they are sport road and track tyres. The compound used throughout the 5 zones of the tyre is the same, the steel lines along the circumference are wound with 5 different tensions creating 5 zones. Superbike users love them but complain that they last for 6 to 7000 miles. Apparently they were buying other tyres for strictly Road use such Michelin and Bridgestone touring tyres.
That being said our bikes are neither huge torque monsters like 1000cc nakeds nor do we shed 3 digit speeds(above 200kmph) rapidly and nor do our bikes weigh as much. Putting all this info consideration, I believe our tyres should last well. The dealers are ill informed s they have no experience with them.
Apart from this, since those tyres are solely for our bikes and exported to 75 countries, we should get them for cheap in india

He was asking the rear wheel or rim width. The rim width is 4" and comes equipped with 150/60 metzeler sportec m5's.Originally posted by sparky View Post

It's the other way around, the guy in the showroom is confused.
