Completely agree to this. At the end of the day these are school/college going kids. It is parents responsibility. Not every kid rides irresponsibly. It boils down to parents judgement. The death of Azharudin's son in a bike accident is a biggest example of irresponsible parents.

As we all know that this bike has started taking place in everyones heart who are naked bike fans...but now after launching this naked version im eagerly waiting for the fully faired version of RC390. Any guesses about faired version....

Why is the max power rpm reduced by 500rpm and max torque rpm reduced by 250rpm? Any special reason? Just curious.

Hey guys!! I'm new to this forum and this is my first post.

I'm planning to book Duke 390 in a week time. I have a concern though. I wanted to know whether there will be a rev limiter at 7k for the first 1000 km. I heard that Duke 200 has this restriction, but I have seen posts mentioning that its just that red led lighting up on the console which if true will not actually limit the revs.

Why I'm concerned about this is I have seen service center guys mishandling new bikes (doing wheelie, high revs and all) especially powerful ones when they are launched. Since Duke 390 is a "pocket rocket", I definitely need to make sure no one messes up my engine in the run-in period.

Duke 200 owners please confirm the rev limit and others who get a chance to test ride Duke 390, please let us know whether it has that rev limit at 7k.

Hi! I am a Duke 200 owner. yes, it is not a rev-limiter, but a red light which blinks as soon as you touch those many revs. It wont bounce you back. Regarding someone messing with your bike, well no one can guarantee you that. Just make sure at the time of delivery everything looks and sounds the way it should.

It's not only at the time of delivery, but also there's a service at 500 km. Messing with a bike during run-in period will not make its engine sound bad immediately, it will just shorten the life of the bike and degrade its performance IMHO. I know that not too many people are concerned about this at all, but I just can't stop worrying, especially after reading your comment on Duke 200.

No test drive available for duke 390?? Showroom people in chennai say since it's high power, no test drive allowed and it's a rule by ktm... Is it true??

Between Xbhp and Team-Bhp I count approximately 50 bookings in Bangalore alone in just two days.... Very Good start for KTM390..

People don't seem to understand that it's VERY hard to harm a modern engine by revving/using the engine in certain way during the run-in period. Doing wheelies doesn't hurt the engine, it only hurts the clutch (which is a consumable, like brakes or batteries anyways). So, even in an unlikely chance of them doing a couple of wheelies on your particular bike, it won't show any ill effects... stop being paranoid and go book one.

doubt that!

I was there at around 3pm to book one. I was no 37. Dont think they would booked another 63 between 3 pm and evening, as there was hardly any crowd.

One guy there did mention that they were EXPECTING and hoping for 100 bookings on day1.

Could be indiranagar and Langford combined as i think their parent is same.

Sweet Mother of God. I was counting only confirmed booking but 100+ in day 1 is unbelievable for 2L bike..

Lets do some extrapolation. Bangalore has 4 dealers and lets assume KTM Indiranagar has the highest booking. For rest of the dealers lets remove 30% from high. Which results in Bangalore alone ~ 300 Bookings. Average of 75 Bikes

In Mumbai there are 4 dealers, in Delhi 10 dealers, Kolkatta 2 dealers, Pune 2 dealers, Hyderabad 2 dealers, Chennai 1 dealer. So for 21 dealers we got around 1575 Booking.. Rest of India has 45 dealers lets assume their average as 35 Bikes (50% of average of Bangalore). So we got around 1575 booking.

So in total we got around 3450 bookings and lets remove 10% as error margin, we got 3100 Booking in two days..

Wow..

Even Half of It 1500 Bookings is pretty impressive...
