So, if they need a 300cc engine, they'll either have to work on existing engine or get a new one. If they can make a 300cc reliable engine in the meantime or get one from KTM stables, go ahead is what I would say.
A re-bored bike (for a bigger engine) like Ninja 300 has a better engine to carry almost the same amount of weight, and can be relaxed, and is better in most ways as long as its reliable enough. If KTM have a ready 250 engine to be rebored to 300, and enough testing time, then they should do it.

Reg. making the 373cc a 300cc, I don't get good feelings from this thought itself. I remember how Ninja 650R was changed only engine-wise, to make it a Ninja 400R, just to get a measly 40~ bhp bike weighing 203 kgs, a non rev-happy engine & the same old parts & looks. And that too with the same manufacturing & maintenance cost (just 14% cheaper price) as a quite bigger 650R.

So, what did Kawasaki achieve by "filling this segment" of 400cc? Just license legality for some markets? Would we like a 400R in India at price of a 650R?
My humble belief is that they should just make a good bike, and not just fill segments.

BTW all this is just a discussion... Who knows what Bajaj have up their sleeve?

@kochumvk: Truthfully, the 200 SS is just my speculation. Don't take it as a news.
The thing is, see how rev happy the Duke 200 engine is? It deserves a fairing is what my point is... that's all.
That's the point I was looking onto.because soon the market is going to witness 300's. Cbr300r unveiled in Asian markets. Kawazaki comes up with ninja 300r.etc. so Bajaj may be planning to introduce a 300cc along with the above mentioned bikes. With lower price and close matching performance they can takeover the market lead. Even though it is speculated that 400cc will be next trend segment, pricing will make sales dull. Affordable performance and according to Indian road conditions is where bajaj points their finger. In terms of engine, either it can be a bored out version or an all-out ktm proved 300. Don't think its from Kawasaki. There is no tie-up in technology-wise between them.

I am under the impression that specifically Bajaj's version of underbelly exhaust has been possible because of their implementation of 3 spark plug tech. Right? Now in their upcoming fared variant there's the more conventional side exhaust (though small, but it's there). I am wondering why this design change? Does this conventional approach of a side exhaust achieve the purpose of 3 spark plugs better? Or, due to possible implementation of the FI system this bike doesn't really require 3 spark plugs? We know that FI has an inherent advantage over carburetors towards emissions compliance, so is it at all possible (though not likely considering Bajaj's obsession with their multi-spark plug techs) that they have indeed gone with less number of spark plugs and eventually taken FI's advantage over emissions control and other benefits? To think about it, 3 spark plugs + FI seem to be an overkill. Is it not?

they are looking bad because base color is white and mirrors are black...I am sure they will merge well with colors like black, blue and bajaj red. Overall its looking fabulous.
just one thing...bajaj should take care of vibrations this time. rest is absolutely fine.

The bike looks quite similar to this speculated image on the net !
When life gives you Yamaha, make it RD350 not R15. :D

Somehow the fairing looks horrendous as compared to popular belief. They should take some cues from the RC series or Yamaha. R15 V2 has one of the best front and side profiling with the fairing. The fairing should have been more linear to the shape of the bike. However with fairing happy us there would be a lot of takers!!

This is surely not 200cc engined Pulsar, because we can clearly see in the pics that this Pulsar is having larger swing arm in comparison with the P200NS.

One more thing to say, I don't know how may of you feel as I feel about this Pulsar looks TINY from the very front look. And those horns like RVMs looks bad on it. Bajaj can have RVM just like RVMs on Kawaks N300, Smaller in height but wide enough to have a clear look at your rear.
