Just because something is complicated does not necessarily mean it should not be put on the bike if the results are promising. How complicated do you think is the Ride-by-wire tech? That din't stop it coming on the bikes did it? Anyway, as you said, this can only be discussed if and when we get to know more about the tech-specs.

Anyway, IMO i think the Bike in these images is the 200cc variant and not the 375 for the below said reason :

I think that the sole purpose of such extensive testing on public roads is to for the manufacturers to know if the bike is performing as it was designed to. Any problems and niggles reported are then ironed out. Now, having said that, as we all know that tires one of the most (if not the most) important aspect of a motorcycle when it comes to the way it handles/gives feedback etc. If we look at the picture, the tires IMO seem too skinny to be fitted in a close to 400cc bike. The rear seems to be a 120 or 130.

Hence, by logic i think the new one coming out will be a 200cc faired variant.

    PS: i hope i am wrong and Bajaj takes out a 375cc :P :P

Prince look close, this looks more like a 200ss than that of a 375. . .

Anyways, can't comment much here as Bajaj's same old habit, use the same frame to almost all their cc bikes . . . Let's just hope it's released soon . . .

      Cheers!!!

Most of the reliable magazines and websites have reported that it's a 200. So I don't think we should argue on that unless we get some concrete info that it's a 375.

In a country like India, the success of almost any product depends on its pricing. And over the years Bajaj has enjoyed that pricing advantage over the others. While FI may be introduced, I think ABS is likely to be introduced as 'optional' for the price sensitive market and segment. Bajaj might feel that FI is an unavoidable technology to stay with the other faired competitors viz. Karizma ZMR, R15, CBR150 etc. and to differentiate the SS from the NS so that nobody would call it a 'faired NS'.

Offering ABS as an option will attract more buyers and will probably put a dent on CBR250's sales as well, given the substantial price difference. If this is their strategy, I'm sure the 200SS will be another success story.

Unlike many here, I see the 200SS as a product with more potential than the 375SS. At least from a company's perspective, the 200SS is likely to bring in more profits (sales figures) and more attention from the public than a 375SS. So it's no surprise they focus a lot on it.

                As

                2. ABS for 200cc seriously ...? By bajaj. ..?
What's wrong in that..? Even 180cc apache has got ABS :P

And about it is a 200cc engine, those tyres are same old sh*t tvs eurogrips that can't handle speed of 150+km/hr.... if that is a 375cc, tires would be some good metzelers or something...

I was waiting for a 375 CC bike with sports touring or something on that note.. but as the thread suggests that it is a 200CC.. but there is also news that BAL was going to launch next bike based on the D390 version platform.. They already have a 200CC version in market.. As the picture shows that they have ABS on the bike.. Fairing + ABS + Exhaust on side + other stuff which is new to this bike. i think would take some amount of investment to do some research on it.. Doesn't make much sense to invest so much on already existing engine.. It will surely kill the 200NS market if this one comes with 200CC engine.. My bet would be on a 375 CC engine.. which is more logical choice.. and I so wish that it is a 375CC..

The exhaust shape looks quite similar to that of CBR150. Though it might be quite different once unveiled.

Are you suggesting that the seating isn't sporty enough? If yes, then you have to consider that there's a considerable no. of people (including me) who prefer a relaxed riding posture over a sporty one. At the end of the day, this bike will still be used for going to market and shopping. Also remember the impact it had on R15 sales. Btw, what's in a name anyway. If the bike looks 'super sporty', the Indian consumer will be satisfied.

Pricing man pricing. NS sells for 87K and with fairing and other expected features, there will be a good enough price difference between the NS and SS so that they can co-exist easily. Technologies like ABS, exhaust etc generally need some initial investment only. With minor adjustments, they can be used on different models. And they probably will invest a lot of money on the 200SS because it's in the current 'HOT' segment. If they can carve into the markets of Karizma, R15 and CBR 150, boy they will make some serious profit. The 375 on the other hand doesn't offer that kind of possibilities. It'll be much more difficult for Bajaj to compete at the less price sensitive segments where the major players of the industry rule.

The bike still looks too much like the NS which is not desirable for a 375SS. I believe it's the 200.

can't wait for the reveal. I can imagine it looks really good in flesh. xD.. Riding position seems ok. the exhaust is a conventional one, visible in one of the shots.. but it's design looks different from the usual ones seen in our bikes. It's short.. for a purpose i guess. and just ignore the tyres.. a bike that appears to come with ABS and steel braided lines cant have those shit Eurogrip tyres of 200NS... Bajaj surely must've addressed this small issue in their flagship model. This bike's definitely gonna come with better set of tyres.

it seems a P200 SS.. for the time being launching a 200CC full faired is much more important .. in order to get a step up to 375 CC directly..
