    was this an OT?

Amidst all the appreciation and criticism for the ZMR.. penning down my views as I was hoping for a decent upgrade, esp Since Hero declared the Engines might from the EBR stables or at least developed in collaboration..

After looking at all the pics in Xbhp nd motoroids.. the New ZMA R and the ZMR are outright ugly. Cant understand from which angle some of you folks find it pleasing. Anyways, looks are subjective they say. As far as I know, the new models make the old ZMA, ZMR, 220 etc look like beauty pageant winners!!!

The front of the ZMR looks like its a miniature road version of the Chetak Helicopters!! Vertically stacked lights are fine, but these are horrible when compared to what Hyosung has or even the P220!! Even that could be pardoned but the Indicators are plain sick!! It seems they have DRLs, not sure, even if those shinny bits around the indicators are DRLs I wonder which Idiot would place DRLs integrated with the Blinkers!! they messed it up beyond repair. They could have either made it twin horizontal lights like the Panigale or the Yamaha R series or stuck to the Verical setup and moved the indicators to the mirror stalk or the edges of the fairing like the old ZMA. The Visor even though would help during touring, looks too big and awful.. if u remove the Number plate, the acres of plastic is gonna make u puke.

Same skinny tires, wheels, forks, even disks! - nothing bad about them, but then whats the meaning of an upgrade if u intend to retain most of the parts??

The mid cowl looks dumb, they have extended the Silver faux cowl of the ZMA right to the tail of the bike, making it looks somewhat like the Mahindra Sym flyte scooters rear. Looks like they have tried to reduce some bulk by using dual tone finish, if thats one single piece from the petrol tank to tail then we r gonna have fun if we need to replace it. just FYI - ZMA full plastic set costs close to 13K where as the much sturdier and better quality 220 plastics costs less than half of that!

Again the rear the gap between the tail and the tire looks dis-proportionate. Hero has desperatly tried to Copy the R15 here.. and from the looks of it, seems like its the same wheelbase with plastic extensions to make the bike look big. So all of you who said this one is a tourer, it only looks like a tourer.

Cant comment on the engine, can only hope they havnt f****d the butter smooth ZMA engine. Mine still runs like a dream at 77000 kms... there seems to be no radiator or even a name sake oil cooler.

It would be absurd if they price this contraption anything more than 90K, but since for most of India the Word 'Splendor' is holy and even considered a demi god, Hero might get some customers thro that channel.

And we can safely assume that these would be launched as ZMA R++ or ZMR Pro or Super ZMR and the old versions would still be available.

P.S. Wonder y they dint plonk the Red Super Sport theme ( red mags + red springs + red spark plug wire & Cap). and Please for gods sake stop adding more and more plastics to the Speedo console..

OT.. I just love your signature bro..

looks are subjective to how the person sees the vehicle.. if one expected too much.. this is how the reaction will be.. lol..

So i stopped expecting too much from the refresh models and waiting for the fresh 250cc engines..
