A Harley is Harley is a Harley. I don't know what I should be more excited about - the 500cc twin engine or the launch period of April, May or June 2014

That is rather excellent pricing. I can see a lot of cruiser enthusiasts buying this. Triumph's cruiser line is already is trouble even before they get here.

About the bikes themselves, IMO, they look pretty damn ugly with the exception of the red-tip twin exhaust thing. But i'm reasonably sure that's not a 500/750 as it looks much bigger plus it has twin discs.

Looking good, but not as awesome as rest of the HD range ... Obviously since these are the smallest and cheapest ..

pray what might be the reason for that ?
500cc twin could have been the game changer in Indian market.

My guess is that the difference between actual manufacturing cost of 500 and 750 (and hence the price) is minimal, so they probably decided it was best to keep just 1 model.

Since 99% of people do not know anything about torque and bhp in india.
Everything sells for cc in india.
                          Like bolero is more powerful
                          than a 2l cruze or 1.6l verna
I think most people would not spend 4lac for 500cc since RE 500 is available in half as much. For them same cc- same power.

I have heard people argue that 1000cc of maruti is equal to sbk 1000cc. Only there acclerator cable is shorter to give good milage.

Looks like my Cruiser dreams are about to get real. A Harley in the family. What more could I ask for. Wait, it just got added to the list of rides that I plan to buy 5 years down the line. Love this confusion.

Last but not least, good job by Harley. One of the few 2 wheeler manufacturers that have taken Indian market seriously.

Although there is no shortage of people who use "logic" like that. I think (or atleast I like to think) that the segment Harley is dealing with consists of mostly enthusiast tourers, so that MIGHT not be the reason.

I mean, the people who give the 1000cc maruti = 1000cc sbk logic aren't ever going to buy a superbike (or any sbk manufacturer's target market) are they?
