Re: Triumph Motorcycles Launch 10 motorcycles in India : Price, specs and more
I am guessing they changed the policy coverage, maybe they added zero depreciation which wasnt there earlier or something similar? Do check with them the reason for increase in price. I dont think you have to worry too muchOriginally posted by shadyabhi View PostInterestingly, the sheet that I was sent via mail has higher insurance costs. As I've already booked a Street Triple ABS, this is weird and I don't feel good about this.

The huge price increase, ex-showroom, for the Bonneville is strange. A friend had got a quotation for me on 08 Jan 2014 of Rs 5.7 lacs, ESR. The latest by @icykash is Rs 21000 higher. Why so is the query.

Size, I can borderline understand. They can say extremely abnormal sizes can have impact on the suspension, sprockets and the transmission. But brand? o_OBajaj Pulsar 150 : 2004-2005
Honda Dio : 2005-2012
KTM 200 Duke : 2012-
Aprilia RSV4 APRC ABS : 2014-

shadyabhi : fitting anything & everything that is not sold exclusively by triumph - exhausts, fuel injection systems, HiD kits, fairings, seat cowl, air & oil filters, frame sliders, engine guards, cotton rails, brake lines, brake pads, alloy rims, intiminators, tires, bulbs & pretty much everything.
wonder if changing horn also voids the warranty as prolly filling non-triumph branded petrol will sure as hell void the warranty too
also, mebbe wearing spartan, alpinestars, joe rockets, dianese or any non triumph branded riding gear will prolly void the warranty too
they r living in a fools paradise... by pricing the machines @ what they have, they are simply preparing to fail instead of preparing to succeed!Last edited by whymail; 01-17-2014, 08:01 PM.◦ ● 4-wheels move the body... 2-wheels move the soul ● ◦

Re: Triumph Motorcycles Launch 10 motorcycles in India : Price, specs and more
I see they're not satisfied with the profit they would make with their overpriced vehicles. This is just a way of making more money with their overpriced official spares/parts. They want to squeeze every single buck out of the owner's pocket I guess. If I were to buy a Triumph now, I'd definitely wait for at least one more year to see how the Triumph experience turns out to be. I'm already smelling it to turn out to be a worse nightmare than the Hyosung. I, however hope that it won't happen for the sake of Indian motorcycling and the owners.

whymail. That was terrific, bhau. Here, I was reminded of the remark made by the astute, pragmatic and cooperative Honda workshop manager of a particular place when I asked him to replace the 14T front sprocket on my CBR 250 with an imported, after-market 15T one. He told me that he was doing this purely on a friendly basis andOriginally posted by whymail View Post@shadyabhi : fitting anything & everything that is not sold exclusively by triumph - exhausts, fuel injection systems, HiD kits, fairings, seat cowl, air & oil filters, frame sliders, engine guards, cotton rails, brake lines, brake pads, alloy rims, intiminators, tires, bulbs & pretty much everything.

A) as a rule, Honda does not allow such jobs to be done in its workshops as it is a mod without the explicit permission of HMC,
B) as my bike was past the warranty period, there were no issues about part replacement under warranty BUT and BUT, if I were to have a prang with this part on the bike, and the insurers got to know that this part was operational on the bike at the time of the accident, my insurance claim would definitely be void,
C) he would NOT be reflecting the job in his database so no receipt, nothing, (I paid Rs 100 to the mech directly. He charged me less as I too worked on the bike with him)
D) in case of above accident, he, the manager, would profess to no knowledge about the mod whatsoever and his infotech infrastructure would support his stand.
After this chat was over, I asked him if fitment of after-market parts would void the warranty whilst such warranty was in force. His reply was in a strong affirmative, that is to say, any and every non-default addition/deletion/modification/amendment et al WOULD definitely void the warranty UNLESS it was approved by HMC in writing.
This seems quite akin to what you have just written about in the case of Triumph. I think that every two and four wheeler maker globally would have almost identical norms. And for good reason too. I don't want to go OT and start a flame war by articulating the reasons but most of us would be aware of the cause and effect principle.
I had set myself a limit of Rs 6.5 lacs for the Bonnie. Now that has been broken and so is my heart. Seems that Kawasaki will have a new customer for its Ninja 650 in a couple of months.

Anyone going to the party? I might be there in a hope that I'll find some fellow future Triumph riders.
( I think all the guys who booked the bike got a call, right? )
