The new FZ and FZ-S looks stunning, waiting for the detailed review.
Regarding the spoiler,it really spoiled my day (actually night ).Why does Yamaha not give the deserved attention to,possibly the biggest 2 wheeler market in the world.Yamaha R25 would have rocked the market share of some well established 250cc bikes .Well hope Yamaha unleashes the 250cc bike at least by mid 2015.Sorry for being melodramatic but I would have loved to see the R25 hit the Indian street first before Indonesia.

It certainly spoiled the mood of almost all the media people present. MR. Roy made himself pretty clear today that they are not even considering to launch R25 in India. upon asking about the One R25 which was brought in India sometime back for R&D purpose, He refused to give clear answer. So, Something might be cooking inside Yamaha. All we can do is Pray the Biker God to shower us with bikes we truely need.

Love these new bikes , especially the fact that finally FI technology had been inducted however I am not too impressed by the MRP . I beleive on road would cost around 92000 and for that sum people can go for a much better option such as Apache 180 ABS or pulsar 200 .

Re: Launched: Yamaha FZ and FZ-S Version 2.0

Don't know what to say about Yamaha India.

The FZ was an already under powered bike to begin with having a weak top end. Ask any FZ owner and they will tell you that the bike loses steam above 105 kmph speedo indicated. Cruising at any speed over 90 for even half a day was definitely strenuous. Add to that the relatively low mileage figure which many owners complained about - especially in the older lots.

And this rear tyre hugger looks like p.o.t.t.y.

With the upgrade to V2.0 this bike has officially become the MOST EXPENSIVE but LEAST POWERFUL 150cc bike in India.

The scenario is looking pretty bad till now.

But I have a feeling that this bike is going to do a 180 and surprise a lot of people when they get their hands on it. A right FI setup can do wonders for a bike and I am sure Yamaha are going to get their fueling spot on. So the bike will have oodles of torque low down, still an awesome handler and striking looker. And the FI is going to give it great throttle response - so an even better City Hoon machine than it currently is. Plus a consistently high fuel efficiency figure due to FI - I think this may be a winner.

And as far as top end power is concerned - just wait for a year for the market to get flooded with plug and play ECU remaps - because the FZ has a huge fan following in south asian countries. I think the V2.0 is gonna change a few things...

                  Waiting and watching.

Yes, The tyres are specially created for FZ by MRF. They do not differ only in design, but also has some changes in it's build materials.

Although, The power has been reduced, But the officials were pretty confident about power being better then before, thanks to Lighter weight and Fi

Re: Launched: Yamaha FZ and FZ-S Version 2.0

Yamaha is so much hyping this mileage matter like 14% increase in mileage, if the mileage of current fz in real road situation is 35 then a 14% increase will just add 5kms to 35km/l and to me that's negligble, infact they should have more focussed on higher torque, but Yamaha is Yamaha and these japanese thinks as they want to.

As per this article, the bike returns a mileage of 49.xx km/L and this by any means isn't bad.
And for the power, the mid-range is said to be quite good.
Only a test-ride can now confirm how different is the FI model from the older one.

                        Ride safe and have fun.

49 KMPL if this is true, bike is going to sell like hot cakes.

                          Cheerz!!
The real beauty lies in throttle's twist!!

Those are highway figures. The Suzuki GS150R does 60 on highways.

Besides the review seems highly biased. It calls the 78,000 ex-showroom price as "highly competitive". With what ? The Avenger costs a few hundred rupees less and has boatloads more torque and power. Not intending to compare a cruiser with a regular bike but this just gives a perspective into how over ambitious the pricing is.

The bike seems shoddy engineering simply by looking at the FE. Power should increase due to 500RPM higher top end and added FI with no torque change and still the FE should go up 10% due to FI. With these changes MINUS the FI the FE should go up 14% anyway considering the engine is de-tuned and weighs slightly lesser. I'd expect an FE of 55-60 km/l consistently for this bike (i.e, VERY competitive with the GS150R and even beat it several times since FI is more accurate in fuel delivery than carb). But I doubt it will return over 48 under standard conditions. Top Gear already says 49 under highway, so I'd say this would do 40-45 in cities.

If the buyer is willing to sacrifice another 1PS in power but keep the torque (at an even lower RPM to aid roll-on in mid-range) and FE figures in favor of a bigger fuel tank and a MUCH lower asking price from the same brand, there is always the SZ-S. I'm confused what the position of the FZ 2.0 is in the market. It'll sell like hotcakes since most of the non-tech population buys stuff simply by the looks.

I think yamaha never does shoddy engineering to its products all of there products speaks quality, you are right on power and torque figures but i believe they have sacrified more power and torque just for the sake of mileage and mileage itself, no doubt avenger has got more torque and more power but just look at the quality of yamaha and bajaj, you just cannot compare yamaha with bajaj, bajaj is still million miles behind when it comes to reliability and smoothness, all of the yamaha bikes are gas guzzler but then there engines are quite strong and serve without any hiccups for long, may be this decrease in peak power will give engine more long life.

Price wise yeah the product sounds a bit costly, but what goes behind the manufacturing a product we can never know there are whole loads of things that makes a product.
