Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
There are about 7 recognized metros and cities that will have first and uniform fuel RON levels.. so if it's there in Delhi, it's there in Kolkata, Mumbai, Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru and other selected cities before the BS (Bharat Stage) is implemented nation wide..Originally posted by cool20bud View PostThe scope of discussion was within Delhi NCR region with the BPCL guy, can't say about whole nation.
Then I guess even I can expect some early delivery!! This is just getting more and more exciting!!!Originally posted by hackernewbie View Post

The Pleasure has been all mine Buddy.Originally posted by hackernewbie View PostFantastic buddy!!
Once again, thanks a ton for understanding the curiosity and replying accordingly.
Looking forward to booking my RC 200 pretty soon

One question from my side: How about the engine note, heating and refinement as compared to the Duke?
Sent from my Samsung Galaxy Note 3 Neo using xBhp Connect mobile app
Engine note is throatier than Duke 390. However, I suspect it is because the engine was new as my duke sounded similar when it was new. With time it will end up sounding similar to Duke.
Heating was Similar to Duke 390 too. I didn’t feel it any better than Duke or any worse than Duke. It will still burn your legs in dense traffic.
Refinement was similar to with no unnecessary vibes. The powerband was lenier. However, it must be noted that this was a fairly new bike. With time the engine will set in and the bike will perform better and get smoother. Honestly, this bike involves you so much that you wont care about anything.
However, the Brakes are better than the ones on my Duke. They have better feedback and don’t feel spongy.
95 Octane is not available in Delhi. It is Either 93 Octane (good for nothing), 97 Octane or regular fuel. I filled in regular fuel and it performed perfectly.Originally posted by cool20bud View PostDid you fill the bike with normal 91RON petrol or you put in 95 RON.
What was the response of bike if you filled it with 91RON?Street racing is for Squids trying to make up for their small equipment

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Took a short test ride of the RC390 yesterday, observed the following:
1. Bike looks more compact in flesh. But once seated, it feels pretty long from the tank to the speedo. The tank is surprisingly thin.
2. I was expecting extreme ergonomics (had ridden the Daytona recently), but was pleasantly surprised to find it comfortable. Taking u-turns is also not much of a task, although not as simple as the duke obviously.
3. Power delivery is linear as compared to the duke 200. If compared to the Duke 390, it is just a bit more civil in nature. I am sure it unleashes true fun higher on the rev band. The ride was pretty short to experience it.
4. Brakes are progressive and inspire confidence. No jerks experienced.
5. I am 5'7" and found the mirrors partially uselful. Had to bend the head a bit to check traffic behind. Else will just show your hands :|
6. Bike is an attention magnet. People will stop midway just to have a look at it.
7. Rider seat is better padded as compared to the Duke. The pillion seat is much softer.
8. Bike is easy to live with in moderate traffic, will need to be kept on the boil in high traffic situations though. But once you catch hold of open roads, everything else will be forgiven
Wish I could get a longer TR!The way you ride is the way you are..

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Suspension is not stiffer than the Duke, in fact I found it to be slightly plusher. That might be due to the added weight and smaller suspension travel.Originally posted by Minisoda View PostWhat about the suspension? I read it's more stiffer than the Duke's. Did anyone try to ride it on our bad roads?

RC200 was not available sadly. Else would have taken the TR.Originally posted by hackernewbie View PostThanks for the update. Are you looking to TR the RC 200 as well?

The dealer is quoting the waiting period as 3 months. Booking amount is 30K and 4K will be the penalty if booking is cancelled

390 man!
Rode the D200 a lot, now will update to a 390. Had decided not to buy another KTM after the problems my Duke gave. But as expected the RC got me weak in the knees at the first sight
.
On a serious note, KTM says to have improved a lot on the quality front based on the feedback from troubled past owners (us!). And I might believe them cuz I found the RC390 to be impressive on the quality front. No rattling panels there. But I will still wait and watch for the feedback of the first lot. Although the quality looks better than expected, It pales when you match it with a ninja. The RC looks quite a bit raw in comparison.
As far as the RC200 is concerned, it is a blast to ride in the city acc to reviewing magazines. It will be quite capable in the city. BUT, the RC chassis will urge you to push the limits, and when you do, you will wish if you had just got the 390 for that additional want of power! Mind you there's no excuse of getting hit by the wind on high speed here, so you HAVE to get the extra power!

Agreed!!
I am looking at the RC 200 and plan to book it next week.
Hope I will not be wrong if I book in the first lot itself, eh!!
