The panels seem to be well finished, but the floating front fairing is a dirt & grime magnet.

Overall, let's not forget that it's built to a fantastic price point. At 2.33 L on road, KTM has done the unthinkable. For genuine thrills on the track, this should be a useful tool. The riding position is committed & I don't see any serious tourers opting for this (D390 makes more sense).

BTW, I heard the moulded pillion seat is imported from Canada & is a better perch for the pillion, than the one on D390.

The pillion seat is smooth and cushy but if anyone think they can ride pillion on it at any decent speed then they are insane. It's too dangerous for pillion riders for any real ride, maybe just puttering around town is ok.

I don't think so.. They gave good grab rails below the pillion seat. subtle and hidden to catch.. else catch the rider.. :P

Also, the single "bungee clip" somewhere I read that it's for holding on in case someone is sitting on one side like ladies with saree sit on a bike with both legs to one side, that type of sitting, it's a handle.. or just hold on to it in case you are not confident.. it gives pretty good grip..

I agree to you to that, I'm planning to get some rubber coating there so that it offers better grip. the soft plastic isn't just cutting it.. but if you can put your fingers there and the lower palm/wrist over the seat, maybe you can get some grip but I highly doubt someone's palm is really that big. esp. ladies..

hahaha. This can be used to exact some revenge after you do all the listening to the gf/wife who is especially bellicose that one day. You say, honey let's go for a ride and patch up!! Then you give her the punishment of her life by riding above 100 with sudeen bursts of accelerations for good measure .Evil Grin

I too saw the rc 390 but it felt tiny.maybe because of the matte black colour and long tank plus transparent front fairing.

Seriously... Come on.. I said I read it in a review that the bungee handle is for someone sitting on one side.. I know its impractical.. Dont know what the reviewer & KTM were thinking about Indian ladies.. Maybe someone isn't married yet.. And Shakuni mama + Hitler... That's hilarious.. And revenge.. Good ideas... Thanks a lot.. 😜

Congrats for your booking!

I have been following almost every update since the launch of RCs and its become so much confusing now.

Somehow holding myself back from booking, until I get a TD. But that seems to be atleast a month away.

So, in the meantime, I would like to know what you guys feel about doing 300-400kms in a day on the RC200?
I am 5.6', have been on the saddle of the RC390 and I feel, even though aggressive, its not as much as I expected it to be, luckily!

And, are the ORVM fixed and can't be adjusted?? Really??

Thanks... Yes.. You are right.. But if you can get the seat cushioned maybe with 1/2 or 1 inch foam.. I say you are good to go.. But you may have to stretch a bit so that might give you back pain.. Go for a touring bike if you are looking for touring like the CBR or Enfield..

And yes the RVMs are not adjustable.. They are adjustable only sideways and not rotatable like normal bikes.. For dukes its adjustable vertically not sideways.. And the RVMs are not useful in city riding posture.. However if you lie on the tank, you can get a very good visibility of what's behind you.. Its got a very good coverage angle..

I kinda have a feeling that I'm the only one who booked the bike and everyone is on wait-&-watch mode... Why what happened..??? Did I do something wrong and everyone knows something that I don't..??

The seat cushion is good enough for me. Obviously I am not expecting the seating comfort of REs. My question was related to the posture. Will it be really tough on the back and wrists for 300-400 kms-a-day rides?

Also, the weekly home-office-home run of 20-odd kms.

I am a big fan of the CBR but my build doesnt go well with it plus, I want something quick!

Not at all a RE guy!

Not at all a RE guy!

I'm going to use mine for 40 kms daily ride to and from office and home.. In city driving posture. I.e. straight yes you will have pains.. For touring, you must lie down on the tank if you do not want any pains.. Also pillion will suffer in such long rides.. If its state highways that you are talking about.. A strict no no.. Coz most state highways are like city gullies.. However if you are talking about national highways... Hell yeah!!! But this is just my opinion.. The bike is built more for track.. Less for city.. So riding her solo on NH shouldn't be a problem...

Don't think so buddy!
I for one is in wait and watch mode only because,

I love KTM and am totally in love with the look of RC but my expectations from the bike are bit different than what it is built for.

I am just waiting to see if the adjustment/sacrifices it asks for, in my case, is reasonable or not!
