duke being an upright naked bike surely is more flickable obviously and thus can be said to handle better in traffic/city..
not trying to turn this into any fight between R15 and RC200 or yamaha and KTM etc (i am myself interested in the RC390, seemingly the proper/worthy upgrade from something like an R15v2), but i find it pretty premature to be so confident of RC's handling/cornering being significantly better than that of R15v2 because that's a very high standard bar to claim about a bike that has not even been ridden for long by anyone.:-)

that's a major increase in sexiness with black alloys..
I don't know how this killer machine can be compared to a R15. Its like comparing a Honda Dio to a Scooty Pep and I can assure u the Dio corners at a considerable 70kmph too. According to all the videos i saw, and being a avid cornering specialist myself, I felt this bike was made to corner. Im pretty sure an R15v2 or whatever cannot beat it, because of the obvious engine difference and also because of the heightened ground clearance and modifications. Its a track bike. But most importantly, RC 200 corners better than the RC 390 due to the linear engine. I cant wait to test it out. AND ONE MORE piece of argument, I personally have not seen any nice corner specialists in R15s. Most of them are chicken shit. not many have shown me its true potential

how about this?Originally posted by sub-zero View PostDoes anyone else think it would look better with black alloys?

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Took a test ride of the RC390 yesterday at the Vashi KTM Showroom. Didn't get much road to ride on plus a showroom employee as a pillion on the same wasn't the kind of test ride I wanted to have. But got some real experience out of it which could be of some help to those who are planning to book the RC390. I noticed a considerable amount of engine vibration on the Handle bar while on idle which smoothens up between 4000 to 6000 RPMs and resumes on and above 6500 RPMs. The seating position is forward leaning but the foot pegs should've been placed a little bit further towards the back to suit taller riders. The suspensions and brakes were flawless! The exhaust note is purely symphonic. And the ergonomics except the foot pegs are perfect. Acceleration with a pillion rider was outstanding. And the handling and cornering is better than awesome which is a great deal as I ridden my share of bikes wrecklessly. So that's that! The bottom line of this review is that the RC390 is an enthusiast's bike. If you want to own and CHERISH a good and an excellently priced bike(@₹2,35,000 on road Navi Mumbai), the RC390 should be your choice.

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Omg, I was checking the spec sheet and comparing with dukes and the Rc390 is around 12 Kgs heavier (both bikes wet and ready to roll).
The RC200, however is a full 18 Kgs heavier(all fluids in) as compared to the Duke 200.
In fact the RC200 dry weight is 137.5 kg which is still heavier than the fully loaded and ready to rip duke 200(136 kgs).
I know it's still lighter than competition but why did it have to gain so much? The fairing and clipons weigh that much more?
This won't do it's performance figures any good, given that the CBR 250 is now suddenly not looking too heavyThe hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
As far as performance is concerned the RCs are still at parr or even better than the dukes although I personally like the seating position of the dukes better but that's another story. The weight has been increased due to the body kit on the RCs but they have covered it up in the aerodynamics department. And I also think that they have tweaked the engine on the RCs a little bit and to top it all up they have changed the exhaust unit on the same(Thank God!!). So even if the the weight of the RCs are on the higher side, they have worked on everything else and managed to make them faster.Originally posted by Doga View PostOmg, I was checking the spec sheet and comparing with dukes and the Rc390 is around 12 Kgs heavier (both bikes wet and ready to roll).

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
Dude, the engine is absolutely unchanged. I am not sure about the state of tune(read ECU) though. The gearbox is same. Even the exhaust is same(can someone confirm this?). Just that it has been wrapped up with plastic.Originally posted by davidvrao View PostAs far as performance is concerned the RCs are still at parr or even better than the dukes although I personally like the seating position of the dukes better but that's another story. The Rcs may prove to be faster, thanks to the fairing, but the dukes would surely be quicker. So at the traffic signal, the duke is going to shoot forward and the RC's would be looking at the tail for sure.
Guess, we'd wait for a detailed ride report /comparison by some mags with proper timings etc.The hero always RIDES into the sunset!

Yeah !! You're absolutely right that we need a detailed review and comparison between the two with some numbers.Originally posted by Doga View PostDude, the engine is absolutely unchanged. True, I haven't seen one in flesh yet! I guess even the company is pushing the RC390 and not RC200!Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostSpoke to my guy here.. 390 test rides from Wednesday and hopefully 200 comes in display by month end.. Just wondering : Wouldn't you prefer a bike that's a bit heavier since it doesn't have ABS ? On hard braking you don't slide around a lot if the bike is heavy, say like the Royal Enfields.Originally posted by Doga View PostDude, the engine is absolutely unchanged. I'm in no way saying it's "good", just that I would feel a lot comfortable using all that power if I know the bike wouldn't do a Salsa number under hard braking.
