Receiving inputs from customers and then working on it is like making them test mules .
Bajaj/KTM should stop doing this .
Same fate which Pulsar 220Fi owners suffered is now happening with 390 .
Hope one day they understand our conditions well and make bike accordingly.

For serious buyers who already have a bike with them its better to wait for few months and they get once the testing phase is over .

killer pricing for the RC 390..

with its dry weight at 159kgs (and wet at 166), it's 10 kgs more than what was previously reported..

also, 9.5l of petrol tank is a little bit too small..with an expected mileage of no more than 25-30 kmpl one will have to visit the petrol bunks a bit too often..but anyways if the bike kicks ass (as it will) all this doesnt matter haha.

apparently KTM will offer extra body kits in two versions - style and race...now if only they also offered the KTM powerparts along with the graphic kits.

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched

            Guys,

RC390 would require 95 octane petrol.
Is it easily available in Delhi/Noida/Gurgaon/Ghaziabad?

If no,then is it really worth to buy this bike given that petrol tank is mere 10L???

What is octane reading for the normal petrol we get these days on pumps? Any idea??
            "As I lay rubber
            down the street
            I pray for traction
            I can keep,but
            if I spin and begin
            to slide , please
            dear god, protect
            my sweet ride"- Amen

Since the internals are same as Duke 390, it would not have any problem with normal petrol.
Normal petrol has octant rating of 91RON.

              Ride safe and have fun.

Priced differently too. But I don't see any killing of the competition. Unless you count the Mojo. Then yeah... this kicks Mojo butt. (sic)
Hi,What is the difference between the three? I can make out one - Ninja is twin cylinder where as the other two are single cylinder, is it correct..!! What all other major differenciators? Is it only a fairing change from the Duke390 or did they made any mechanical changes? How about the firing of 390? Is it like a super bike or just same as Duke I am planning to go for 390, seriously

Sound would change only if there is a mod to exhaust or with the engine.
If both is unchanged it will sound like Duke .

Superbikes have 4cyl to make such growl .
Single cyl engine can never produce such sound even with After market exhaust .
So RC should be more like dukes two stroke roar .

KTM has priced the bikes very smartly. And in order to price them well, the bikes had to be 'Made In India'! Hope they continue to make us thrill.
A bike on the road is worth two in the shed.

                            RC twins , Ninja 250 Mono ,Z250, Yamaha R25 ,HX250 , CBR300R .... good times ahead for us .

Did anyone notice that PowerDrift team asked Stefan about getting the duke 690 or superduke to India , he replied saying no plans for now. I remember reading on Overdrive that 690 would be coming by 2015/16 .(KTM 690 Duke To Be Launched In India By 2015 - Overdrive).

Sorry.. not all of them would be launched in India.. the market (2-3 lakh) is simply not big enough. The non performance (sales) of the CBR250R is for all to see.

India gets the RC 200/390 as it gets manufactured here for the world.. so there is nothing to lose for KTM/Bajaj by selling in India.

250R production ceased at the end of July 2014 is what i was told by the dealer. Dealerships haven't recieved 250R stocks in August and today another friend got word from his dealer that changes are undergoing to the production line possibly indicating that the 300R production is set to commence. I take this with a pinch of salt but if more people can enquire of HMSI dispatching 2014 250Rs and warehouses still storing them, it would be great.

Having said that we are aware of indian road conditions and the way indian customers push thier bike and all the inpuits we have recieved from customers have gone into the RC" . If they would have improved rims they would have definitely said it.

I noticed that bit aswell. But if you think from a manufacturer's perspective they cannot acknowledge or deny the issue right away. If they deny, some people will nag them till they respond. If they accept it, that would potentially call for a recall on all the 390s which is an expensive affair. I was hoping he would atleast tell us what was causing it or if they have actually made some technical changes to the wheel. When Stefan said the 690 and 1290 won't be here because of our road conditions, i was hoping they would address the changes in the RC's wheels aswell. Kudos to the auto journalist for putting out that question though. Cannot recall who it was.

Sales figure source? I could only find modelwise sales breakup from Motorbeam.
