Being a big single cylinder engine the Vibes are indeed there in RC. However, its minimal and will not bother you even in a long ride.

My Duke has similar vibes too. However, it never felt uncomfortable even in long rides

Came home just now After a slightly longish td.The bike is super awesome.People who are worried about stance, go and ride and see for yourself. Its nothing. A short spin on r15 will hurt more. (Just fyi ive been riding bikes with upright stance). So yes as someone said earlier its as comfy or more comfier than a sportsbike should be.Did i say sportsbike? Hell yeah.My td route was- little city road, a sweeping left hander for highway, straight roads, again a left hander and city roads. In city, lot of braking and wrists will hurt a lil bit, but then i guess thats just a matter of getting used to.The corner i took, man, this is a bike on which you can do stuff something similar to what rossi/marquez do on tracks, and im sure this bike will shine brightly on track.Highway performance is also very good. When i took the duke over 140, i didnt feel confident in pushing her more. But moving to rc i could hold 150/160 with ease.Bike is rock solid at that speed.
What else, ergos are spot on, im a 6feet 87kg guy and my knees used to hit tank recesses on my duke.nothing of that sort here.Pillion is better than duke seat, but then you gotta hold on for dear life just as you would on duke.but with a sane rider, people can tour two up. Theres a pipe below numberplate holder, similar in thickness to chassis pipes. Can fabricate a rack or so for touring or a provision for bungee clips like ninja.Loved the bike.

Nice to see a lot of (over)excited fellows going gaga over the new faired love from KTM. I recalled my days when I used to be like this.

Well, I too got to test ride the RC 390 today. The distance covered was around 10 kms within the city with nice traffic free roads most of the time.

Coming from a P 200, R 15, Duke 200 and then a Duke 390 the first thing I noticed is the seating position A lot of people are comparing it with the R15 and well, it is almost similar position wise but feel wise its different. It feels a lot more connected to the rider because of the narrower seats and considerably better feedback from the front forks. It is certainly going to set a new benchmark in terms of handling.

Coming to the way the engine and gearbox performed in comparison to the Duke 390:
The low end ride-ability is considerably better than the d390. Why is it this way, I would be explaining that later in the post. The exhaust note is fuller, in fact throatier would be better. The idling note is way better(frankly to me, duke 390 sounds bad at idle). The power delivery is that little bit more linear

Now here is my theory why the low end ride-ability has improved:

Irrespective of KTM's claim that the gear ratios are exactly the same, I doubt it. I have a reason to do so and god knows how the big journos and riders across the world missed this.
The RC 390 does a 100 kmph at 6000 rpm while the duke 390 does it at 5500 rpm and considering the fact that they both ride on similar cycle parts, the RC sports a lower gearing, albeit very slightly lower thereby also justifying how it rides better in the lower rpm's(no stuttering, chain snatching, considerably less jerking in higher gears etc)

The brake feel has also been improved but still needs to be better as the effort required at the lever needs to be further reduced. In spite of the effort the bite is just superb, bites like an anchor. The headlights would be way better too for touring as both the beams (high and low) remain on when using high beam and also the fact that they are projectors. The quality on display across the bike is a notch higher in comparison. Rear seat is a better place to be when compared to the dukes.

Overall I would say, this comes as a more mature product from Bajaj KTM as it seems they have worked on what the customers had to say. Mine was booked even before the official bookings started, can't wait for it to be delivered now.

          Ride safe!

ah so finally got a glimpse of RC in flesh.
first thing evident was a better finished product than the 390 duke. wiring and all inside the fairing seem tightly done.
the plastic quality of the fairing seemed nice to touch.
the exhaust does sound a tad better than duke too.
oh and for a 5 ft 7 inch and thereabouts guy i almost flatfoot the ground both feet though i guess a lil extra inseam that i have comes to play. besides i felt the bike fits me like a glove!
my only grouse- cheap quality levers. that wud go out frst when the bike comes.
waiting soon for a test drive.

I do not agree on this.

Exhaust note is definitely guntier compared to duke390 as foretold by many other people over here.

Also, reviews done by motoroids and motorbeam mentions that the luxury of heat is unavailable in RC390 as opposed to duke390.

Second this. Infact when i tookover the rc, the fan was spinning( i thought get ready for hot thighs as experienced in duke) but nothing.only heat i felt was near ankles, very little and that too when fan was on.

                        Sir,
The exhaust note opinion can vary person to person that was my personal experience.
Regarding engine heat i test rode in heavy traffic so heat was there but as soon as you hit open road heat is totally gone

The brake & clutch levers are of very poor quality...
They are the same ones used on majority of Bajaj bikes...
They serve their purpose alright.. but these are befitting on a KTM bike...
Also you use these things all the time..so better quality ones will really make a difference...

Yes was talking about the brake and clutch levers. They are the generic ones that bajaj fits its bikes with.
