I doubt about quality of levers.. the quality is good ...
Stock levers of any bike and manufacturer will break or bend on fall..
Especially hero honda's lever.. I have seen lots off zmr's, hunk,etc having bent levers because of a simple fall..
Stock Levers are alot better than the aftermarket levers you get..
If you still want change try using ninja's levers.. especially of 650r though may not be direct fit slight alteration may be needed.. has got adjustable levers..

Didn't look like. They were the same, basic ones.

The exact 'made for India' versions might not be the models tht are exported. Might be with minor cosmetic changes/upgrades.

But, how do you hear different? It's quite interesting infact.

I would suggest you to have a hear at the exhaust note once more.

Hahaha... Loved when you lost your patience.. But That's okay.. He just stated his opinion.. Like music.. The exhaust notes are also aural signals.. Like different taste in music even this is different.. Even now I felt that RC notes are no better than an autos just like dukes..

One quality for India and another for the rest of the world.. no ABS here, ABS everywhere else.. not fair enough Bajaj & KTM.... Atleast make ABS optional!!!

Went to KTM Adyar showroom here in Chennai yesterday. There were a lot of people who had come specifically for the RC390. The bike looks absolutely stunning. Infact stunning is an understatement. The fit and finish look fine. Quality differs based on people's views. The overall quality is good but not Japanese standard though. Few of my observations:
1. The tank is fiber/plastic one and is very narrow. The rider seat is narrow and this helps short riders keep their feet down easily. The tank looks long though and at the end of the tank is the battery section.
2. The battery section is covered by a plastic lid and it seemed flimsy and not of good quality personally. The battery section lid can be released using the lock found under the rider's seat. If they could have somehow moved the battery section to under the rider's seat then we could have either got a bigger tank or same tank with shorter length which would have made the forward lean position less for the rider.
3. Rear seat cushion is soft but when pressed further you hit the hard spot of the base. Pillion can sit for short distances only. The holder under the rear seat is good actually and grip wise seems ok.
4. Saddle bags can be fit in the rear seat contrary to what I thought earlier. The sturdy rod under tail section, seat grip on right side can all be used to hook up bungee cords. Need to see options for petrol carrier on RC.
5. Forward lean position is subjective to rider. People who are tall mostly have long arms and do not have to lean too much in RC. People who are short might have to lean a bit more. This is my inference though. Will know more about riding position after test ride only.
6. I found the rider seat short for my liking and cramped with not much space to move. The rider seat length is shorter than Duke. And the way you have to place your leg on gear lever at tilt position is not to my liking. Test ride will reveal how it is actually.

Heart tells me close your eyes and buy the RC but mind tells me go for the Duke purely for the riding position. Will take one or two test rides and then decide finally.

Looking for 390 only. Either Duke 390 or RC 390. One test ride on RC will help me decide.

Yeah the KTM showroom near BSNL exchange. Test ride bike not yet registered. They will this week. So probably by Fri or Sat test rides will commence on RC390. Lot of people have left numbers for test rides and lot of bookings as well. So should be a queue to get test rides I guess.


Thats the KTM 350 SX F. The showroom has this as well as RC8 on display. Total off-roading bike and looks cool the 350 SX F.
