They have given the vehicle for approval, for that only they have kept that bungee clip looking thing on the right side.. The vehicle need to be approved by the vehicles department... Only after that they can use it on road. They said by this week it will be available for TD.Originally posted by hackernewbie View Post

Those are not halogens, rather some sort of high-end, energy-saving LEDs, as was told by the showroom guys!Originally posted by Newbie101 View PostI'm guessing Halogens, aren't HIDs banned/illegal ? Or is it the other way around?

You can still talk to your ktm showroom guy to change your booking to rc390 without any other cost incurred, while their's still time...Originally posted by Ajay Vishwanath View PostI agree.. the cooling sound & all.. I think that the sound will be a luxury in the 200 as it will be cooled easily.. Don't know whether that's good or bad.. But now I am feeling that the 390 is what I should have booked for.. Anyway booked the 200.. Which is going nice for me..

For the money they are asking, they should have provided HIDs.Originally posted by cool20bud View PostThose are halogens only buddy.
With halogens, the headlight will be comparable to P220.

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
One thing amuses me is that there are many folks who were expecting this bike to be priced even cheaper.dont know whats their perspective on this.
Contrary to that, i was expecting the rc to be priced at around 2.6-2.7, with high quality parts and more exclusivity.

May I ask why? The p220 run on 55W(?), these run on 55+65w! Not that I have a problem with KTM giving HIDs, but still curious about your statement.Originally posted by lockhrt999 View PostFor the money they are asking, they should have provided HIDs.

PS : Are HIDs legal ? I have been looking into this and I cant find a credible source that says it is. But the luxury segment cars are running on HIDs, so I'm a lil confused.

Re: KTM RC 200 & RC 390 Launched
I'm guessing both headlights aren't H4, meaning focus is in different directions. It would have been best if both had upper and dipper. Granted P220 has best in class headlights but when upper is turned on, dipper turns off & vice versa. I wished both could work at the same time. Take another example of R15, it has useless dipper and when you switch to upper, there is absolutely no light for nearby roads.Originally posted by Newbie101 View PostMay I ask why? In other words, on all indian bikes,
When using upper at high speed, you can avoid crashing into some obstacles but you would never know what it really was.
When using dipper at high speed, you at least see clearly what you are crashing into.
I only wish there was something in between.
There are a lots of things that we do in our daily life are illegal. It all boils down what price you are willing to pay for your safety.Originally posted by Newbie101 View PostPS : Are HIDs legal ? OEM HIDs are legal. Anything that's not RTO/ARAI approved is illegal. Even when you change the profiles of your tyres or you put Akrapovič, that's all illegal.
Like Rahul baba once said, legal & illegal are just a state of mind.
