Re: Honda 160cc bike by year end: xBhp News

It is very frustrating to see the absolute lack of information which reflects Hondas attitude towards the Indian customer. If they wanted to keep things under wraps, why even announce a November launch date?

Its a CB Unicorn 160 which is going to be launched in a few days from now, looks similar to the trigger.

              No Engine Kill Switch.
Switch Gear looks similar to Dream Yuga.
              Pass light switch present.
              Lail Lamp design seems interesting.

I Think they just wanted to Rename the Trigger to Unicorn(as Uni still out sells Trigger), hence the outcome. Though it looks like a practical commuter, but, with this design, did they missed the chance of launching a competition against FZ and Gixxer!!!
Had I been Honda, I would have Upgraded the Unicorn itself with minor tweaks such as digital speedo, LED tail, and kept the old Design Language intact. And Launched a newly designed Sporty Naked 160CC with FAT tires and youth inspiring design, to take on FZ and Gixxer.

I guess honda will keep on designing new tanks, side panels for their old unicorn and will keep on changing its names like dazzler, trigger and now unicorn 160...
Honda just recently updated trigger's power figures with half a bhp more than the outgoing version. Dont know whether honda will discontinue trigger or it will position unicorn 160 above trigger...??

Classic Honda! Again banking on the new 160 cc engine to sell. Nothing else apart from the engine seems new. Same old switchgear(I bet it is of crap quality like before). No engine kill switch. Nothing new in terms of design either, the rear section seems to be taken completely from the current generation Unicorn. Loved the Trigger's tank design better. Should deliver 15 bhp or 15.5 bhp max if my guess is right.

Sorry Honda, waited all along for this and very disappointed at what I am seeing. Will be booking a Gixxer.

I think they want to compete with pulsar 150 which is still the best selling 150cc bike in India...

Guys, not all people want flashy rides like us young guns! I don't see a middle aged man riding a bike like FZ or Duke, unicorn's target market mostly has middle aged people who want to commute to office without any fuss ( almost most of them ex-splendor owners). I personally like the bike and might be a good option for people to upgrade from their unicorn without compromising on practicality.

I might sound biased, but the middle portion looks exactly like my bike(Hunk), anyone else feel the same? oh and the rear mudguard too(extends from the bike to few inches)

Folks, honda knows the market much much better than us. Members here are always looking for fun to ride machines, but in India everyday practical machines will bring in large numbers. Manufacturers know this and hence we have this bike. Just wait and watch the number.

I have seen people getting unicorn over and over again, you will be amazed by the number of people who sell their old bike and get the current gen of the same bike, you can't expect biker mentality among the masses. Even so many xbhp members who own R15 version 1 had the urge to get the version 2.
