    Any change in Tyre size?

Guys, maybe the company is still far away from an upgraded P180 & P200 for the masses. (I mean, prototyping is done, but still launching it commercially may consume time.)

That's why, Bajaj didn't want to STOP buying P180 & P200 for now ... as the launch might still be far...

and regarding showing the bikes in public, they wanted to judge the best upgrade of the 3 component combinations. We know that now...

About the Magazine, it's obvious that Magazines work for the Cash! We, Xbhp are more ethical about someone else's rights, property or job.
Magazine won't hide this stuff, Will they?

But, Since Magazines did print this stuff, it seems Bajaj's plan failed! P180 & 200's sales might slump now a bit, after the news.

To be very frank I was shocked when I saw the pictures of Ninja here in xBhp. I tried to look for the actual source of picture which could not be traced and hence the pictures remained as it is.
MG, I thought I had PMed you about this guy on orkut. Also, this guys says it was his "uncle" working in BAL... Despite this info, how was the identity not traced?

Checked today at PBK, Navi Mumbai, there were P200s and Avenger 200s in the showroom display.... but no P220s. The PBK guys said that the P220 supply has been stopped for some reason, but there is no info on any new model. Also asked about P200 upgrade... he said there are chances of new P200 with P220 faring and cycle parts.

I am sure a vehicle is kept in the showroom for public display, right? and from their it will reach to a wider audience by any means possible! If Bajaj couldn't understand this then its their fault not of the one who took the video!!

Although I'm not in a position to say what exactly happened that day(Was absent from xBhp) but the difference between these two events is that since the video was clicked in Pro-Biking so the company knew who all were there and it was there responsibility to stop any such incident. They most probably knew the guy who clicked the video and hence he was requested to delete it from youtube and somehow they contacted Aryan(I guess). This can only be seen as a immediate precautionary mesaure to stop the news from spreading and hampering company sales but we all know that it didn't happen and the news actually spread like a wild fire.

what do u want me to explain MG?

I just wanted to say why was all the fuss created when eventually the entire news was going to be published in a magzine, that too just a few days after the incident happened.

and bout xbhp being the source of first hand information.. it's very true at it's place. When something's posted on a public forum, different views/opinions are bound to come in. That's what the public forum is all about, to discuss things...

what thelayer said below is more or less what I wanted to say and may b that's what MG wanted me to explain...

We were forced to delete all links to that video right? Makes sense if the entire thing was gonna be cloaked in secrecy, but here we are reading the same bit of news in a magazine with quite a huge distribution network. So what was the point of all the 'directives' to delete the video blah blah..quote]

I think ketan is pondering the obvious question, what the big fuss was all about when ultimately the news was going to be reported in a magazine?

I dont have that deep knowledge of this entire incident as I never followed this thread that much but what ever little I've read has surprised me a lot.

I today received the April issue of Bike India which has a half a page story of the new upgraded models of Pulsars. That too with couple of comparison pics.

It's difficult to pen down each n every words. But here's selective data of that article.

"AT THE BEGINNING OF 2009, BAJAJ AUTO ANNOUNCED THAT THEY WILL LAUNCH A NEW BIKE EVERY MONTH FOR THE FIRST SIX MONTHS OF THE YEAR. BAJAJ DID UNVEIL 3 VARIANTS OF THE PULSAR 200 AT A PROBIKING SHOWROOM IN PUNE. THE BIKES WERE DISPLAYED FOR THE ENTHUSIASTS TO CHOOSE THE BEST OPTION AMONG THE THREE. THIS WAS DONE AS THE COMPANY PLANNED TO FINALIZE THE FACE LIFTED VERSION OF THE PULSAR 200 BASED ON THIS SURVEY.

THE FIRST BIKE WE SAW WAS FITTED WITH CLIP ON HANDLEBARS, A REAR DISC BRAKE AND BIGGER FRONT FORKS - ALL BORROWED FROM IT'S ELDER SIBLING, THE PULSAR 220DTS-FI.

THE SECOND VARIANT WAS A DITTO COPY OF THE P220 EXCEPT THAT THIS ONE SPORTED AN ALL BLACK ENGINE AND ALLOYS.

THE THIRD VARIANT WAS SIMILAR TO THE SECOND SANS THE REAR DISC BRAKE.

APART FROM THE P200, THE SHOWROOM GUYS ALSO SAID THAT A FACELIFTED VERSION OF THE P180 WILL HIT THE MARKET WHICH WILL SPORT THE LOOKS OF THE CURRENT P200.

SURVEY OFFICIALS SAID THAT BAJAJ WAS PLANNING A PRICE TAG OF RS.77000 FOR THE FIRST P200 VARIANT. THE P220 COPY VARIANT MAY DEBUT AT A PRICE OF RS.79000

These Visual Upgrades are not gonna make a dramatic change in thier Bikes.....

All we want is a Bigger and faster Pulsar............

We dont want these Penny figures of increasing power to 17 to 19......20 to 22......

THough we all know that Pulsar Engine cannot be powered more or modified more ----- how about a Twin Head......

Guys, One of the new P200 is coming soon, for March installment of New bike release. Remember, Bajaj said they would release a bike every month?? They left Feb empty but NOW they will launch this bike soon....

The 3 models were put to "judge the best upgrade" of them. And it seems, Bajaj finally collected the data from us, as to which model is most suitable upgrade... and yes, now it's 19 bhp...

I SAY:--> If 19 bhp is not due to Fi/ technology, It's due to tuning only. and tuning means, low & mid range might pay for the high end...

Proof: Bajaj Pulsar 200 to grow up
