I dont really think Yamaha had a reason to be desperate.... I guess the logic behind the new colours is to ensure there is something exciting for anyone who looks for buying a FZ..

IMO the pulsars are eating dust for the simple reason that almost all of the breed looks almost similar..... and with the rising popularity it meant appearing as the same-old-to-be-seen-everywhere-pulsar.

Putting a new bike every now and then would be financially very difficult and not really a cost efficient channel.

Yamaha seems to have learnt from others mistakes and others game plan as well...

Its keeping the customer interested with lil tweaks unlike bajaj...
its putting a product in each class like Honda...

Now I expect a Yamaha Scoot to come up soon... mark my words!

Personally, I think the color changes are only to END the dealership paintjob changes ...

We know some FZ 16s were sold at ridiculously high price like Rs. 94,000 ...

just because of a "dealer applied paintjob" ... Yamaha wouldn't want that, would they?

      What do you say guys?

        My thoughts exactly ^^

But the thing is, this will give FZ S a distinct look, from the FZ 16, i.e. more eye-balls.. Considering the generic colour schemes of FZ 16, many a time I didn't bother that the bike beside mine, in signals, is FZ.. So....

Yamaha has categorically stated that It is not interested in becoming a volumes player and is not aiming for the number one spot. Also, this is just a variant and not an "All new! ZOMG!" bike as some of the others push their updates. Just a way of preventing the product from getting stale or becoming too common.

I also do not get the Rs 2000 is too much! sentiment. It is not that big a sum. Non-existent if you're buying on EMI. Remember the "Special edition" pulsar 180s with the orange paint scheme? How much was the premium on that?

hey I think that visor can also be fitted with our old FZ-16, who ever have moved their Number plate to front mudguard...this will fill the open gap between headlight and a digi console...

Did anyone expect the extras to be available for only 500 bucks? Yes I agree that Yamaha could have slipped in something more like a rear disk for such a price but you do have to maintain a diff of 2k atleast between models ...

                      Front Number Plate in FZ

I hope Yamaha has now provided a better place to fit the number plate in front. Its current place above headlight spoils look of the bike. I guess this should not be too much of a work for the manufacturer.

Yellow / Black combo is really good one, suits this bike. I think bike looks totally different & fresh than earlier plain one. Good strategy but price hike of Rs.2000 is not justifiable.

Looks like PPl who were thrashing HH, when it did the paint job on its zma, as now finding 'valid' reasons for the yammies.
                                Kudos.

ya HH did the paint after 3+ yrs, but yammy is doing it in a year. Great job yammy!
