I called up Orion Motors, Yamaha Dealers in Bangalore and they have new colors in FZ-16 apparently ---> two shades of Blue, Yellow....etc etc. I asked them if it is the same price. The guy on the phone said no, it is 5K extra!! I told him 5K for a paintjob? He said "well, yes sir."

Yup you are absolutely right! yammy has moved another stone by giving its customers alot of coloring options. and pay the 2K extra for all the R&D on the paintings and the bikini wind shield, guess its the most smallish yet effective of its class

Obviously that paint scheme is done by the showroom guys and they would try extracting the paint cost from the customers.

I saw one blue FZ in Pacer Yamaha too. Looks nice!

No one ever takes a bikini windshield seriously. They exist purely for stylistic reasons. Ever seen the new Honda Hornet?

Also, take a look at the international product pages of all the major manufacturers. See if you can find one without a special color option package for their models.

The sarcasm in your post wasn't lost on me, but I can't say the same about the logic in mine on you. No worries.

Excellent then. You have first hand knowledge of how "All the R&D" is helping things.
