Re: Hero's HX250R launch delayed due to EBR's bankruptcy
No doubt, their launch has taken a road-block. But, I guess Hero has enough pennies to get the R&D going and get this thing launched. I also eager to see about the Hastur too, how these 2 are going to pan out during the road version.R15S - Current

Re: Hero's HX250R launch delayed due to EBR's bankruptcy
As per the news piece, first Hero says that it was in the advanced stage - AGREED, but again they mention that Hero needs R&D help to complete a pending project!? Doesn't look so 'production-ready' to me. One the other hand, Honda's CBR sales are not as much as they were when the CBR was launched. If one had to go by the rumor-mills on the internet, 250R is seeing a decreased production and plans to reinstate a new model is on its way(?!) However there is no confirmation on the same by Honda. A 300? 250? Only Honda knows.
But clearly Honda's focus is on eating into the sub 150cc rural market dominated by Hero. Given its (Honda's) string of launches in the segment. Volume drives this segment.
The only brand that is on time with it's launches is Bajaj. By the time the other 2 giants make up their mind and decide to launch a quality product >200cc segment, Bajaj would have happily laughed its way to the banks!
In the meantime, Hero and Honda can pull up their sleeves and please get some quality machines for the market ASAP. I am dying from waiting any further.

If TVS launches its 250cc Draken by this year end, they can have a big slice of the 250cc pie.Tour De Thekkady

Thats a big IFFFF. Atleast hero is showing some prospect of doing some R&D with this bike...There has been no news about the Dracken concept applied to Apache or any other...dont know what TVS is planning.Originally posted by harishkumarko View PostIf TVS launches its 250cc Draken by this year end, they can have a big slice of the 250cc pie.R15S - Current

Re: Hero's HX250R launch delayed due to EBR's bankruptcy
I feel the other way round. Atleast Draken test mules were spotted around hosur as early as January and even in March. But the HX has been tested only in the US and not a single test mule has been seen in our country. I think they brought in a couple of them. Remember seeing shipping receipts on xbhp. Probably bankruptcy is the reason why hero has not yet moved to full fledged testing. Much like Hero, TVS will also price is very competitively and BMW being the brain behind this project, I hope the quality of the product will be satisfactory.Originally posted by TheArcher84 View PostThats a big IFFFF. TVS products feels most premium among the sub 200cc bikes. I just hope the Draken is an evolution of the Apache which is one of the most underrated bike in this country.Ride Hard Or Stay Home

Did you really just say TVS make the most premium bikes?? And also linked premiumness to Apache? I mean TVS makes decent products but woah! No way premium! And no. Apache was never underrated. It is one of the most celebrated bikes in India. Draken will probably not be Apache's successor. Apache series will probably continue with bigger bore engines of the same suzuki fiero block. I remember them showcasing a street fighter version of the Apache in 2012 Auto Expo. I think it was called velocity. That is still pending.Tour De Thekkady

This delay would kill the HX as Draken, Mojo
Now problem for Hero is they already showed the bike in auto shows, they have to launch it.KTM RC390 - Current

Re: Hero's HX250R launch delayed due to EBR's bankruptcy
Wow, it is such a big Deja Vu. I was saying the same statements in 2014! In Nov-Dec 2014 I was very hopeful that Honda will launch CBR300. It's been 6 months and 5000 kms that I am riding Ninja 300, and in June 2015 we are still wondering whether it will be CBR 250 or 300!Originally posted by BloggingWheels View Post.... LOL, Wut? It is not legally binding that what you show, you must produce. Auto expo is only a display, not a trailer and definitely not a promise.Originally posted by itsmevini123 View PostNow problem for Hero is they already showed the bike in auto shows, they have to launch it.
I don't think HX250R was any close to production in next few quarters, no matter what PR says. EBR bankruptcy gives them a few more quarters to put the designers to work to add multi-coloured scooters and even newer splendors (now with automatic horn!) on the road.
TVS being premium bikes under 200cc! Even they would blush! They have used a lot of marketing-lingo in their ads, but never 'premium'! Their 300-500-800cc whatever was making rounds on internet since I was not even having riding license, and it has been a long time!
For future I have my bets on Kawasaki with their interesting lineup in 650s, on Benelli for VFM, and on KTM for sheer more power per rupee (though Bajaj makes sure they don't exceed too much in quality than their Indian cousins). Honda, TVS, Hero will keep on showing interesting concepts such as three wheeled and one wheeled bikes in auto expos, and will keep on churning similar bikes that have been their bread and butter for so long. Not sure what Suzuki will do, but they have been conservative player for a long time.

Re: Hero's HX250R launch delayed due to EBR's bankruptcy
I said premium when it comes to Indian makers. When I say premium I'm talking about build quality and feel good factor. Even though refinement was not much on the 180cc mill of Apache the bike felt way more sorted and had the built to last feel that bikes like pulsars lacked.Originally posted by harishkumarko View Post@HyperRetard

Oye yaar come on....I mean what sort of yardstick do you use for "Built to last" ?? A Bajaj of all things?Originally posted by Bishop View PostWhen I say premium I'm talking about build quality and feel good factor. If you said Honda OR HH OR Suzuki then yes you could have set an appreciable benchmark in build quality.
Why consciously select a manufacturer which is right at the bottom in this department? Ok maybe second last with RE taking last place.200 | 300 | 1200 BOXER

Re: Hero's HX250R launch delayed due to EBR's bankruptcy
Hero, yamaha, Honda, tvs, etc have lots of ground to cover with the advent of ktms, benellis n kawas. Last year when I had been to a Honda dealer to book cbr250, they informed me to wait saying that 300 was on it's way. Likewise even the HX250 was supposed to be launched in the last quarter of 2014. Even the Draken, yamaha r300, cbr300. Thank god I bought a ktm D390 and even after 6k kms on it, the above mentioned bikes r still nowhere in the picture. If people still think that they are on their way then probably they might be coming from Mars
Some of the finest motorcycling companies in India are busy churning out the jupitors janitors aviators sanitors dormitors and what not :banghead: They show you the missiles at Auto expo n then sell you diwali rockets at their dealerships.
EBR 1st murdered the Karizma n now with their premium product getting delayed, Hero business will always remain a volume driven model. Tighten your seat belts and forget your senses, you are about to be assaulted with splendour, passions, passion gtr, passion rc110, splendour superlow, passion girl, splendour superglide
And not to be left behind Honda will come with their unicorns, dicorns, sweetcorn, popcorns
