Rider (me) - height- 6'2" and weight is ~ quintal ( )

Observations on the bike components-
1) Tank is 21 litres with 3.5 litres as reserve. The tank is all metal so my magnetic tankbag will fit nicely.
2) The bike redlines at 8500 rpm and there is a red shift light
3) The front brake caliper is from JJ Juan and is a quad piston radial type
4) Both brake lines are braided steel
5) Both lights are 35W H7 and are AC, not DC.
6) Apparently some panniers/luggage will be releasing for the bike
7) Flicking the engine kill switch also kills the console display like in the Dukes
8) Pirelli Diablo Rosso II tires are standard (which, in my opinion, should be replaced with longer lasting MRFs or something)
9) No center stand (actually I did not ask about it so maybe it's there as an option)

Observations on the bike dynamics-
1) The bike is geared tall. 5500 RPM on 5th gear is 88 kmph and 5600 rpm on 6th gear is an even 100 kmph
2) Ground clearance is 175 mm as informed to me
3) The seating position is a very close match to the TBTS, another bike I like very much but will not consider because it can't do 100 kmph all day
4) The bike does not like low rpms - 2k to say 3.5k is a bit knocky and vibey but above that this thing gets moving. This is going to be fixed in production models as informed to me.
5) It can do 110 all day at less than 6K rpm and there are no vibes in that range, even the sound is not audible due to a combination of wind noise and low exhaust volume. Top speed that someone else has done on this bike is 157 speedo indicated. Speedo takes readings from the engine I guess. Anyway the bike felt great and fitted me properly, something that is happening after a very long time.
6) Handlebars are high-set so one can't flick the bike around but it handles fine otherwise. No issues in taking u-turns, the steering angle is good.

Information on the bike service-
1) First service @ 1000 km, thereafter 6K km intervals
2) Engine oil grade: 10w50 so lots of choices. The bike uses 1.5 liter of oil at a shot
3) Coolant replacement @ 30K kms (rather long eh)
Long story short, I booked it and delivery on the 15/16th of October on launch day. Price to be below 2 lakh OTR
I am apparently the 14th guy who has booked it and it seems that makes me among the first 100 to get the goodies, whatever they are.

So yeah, to answer my own query on page 1, I bought the logo. I just happened to buy the bike attached to it as well.
Now here's hoping my parents don't get too angry on me getting a second bike...
Nice review. Congrats bro.hope to see your ownership review very soon.
8.5 redline is pretty less although that's a tourer bike I can understand but how was the exhaust note.and how is the weight

Some nice insights tanay, now thats some concrete news on the price and specification. Concrete, because it being shared by an xbhpian and not some bloke from paid media.

Do we have a killer product to wash out duke babies ?

Cheers,

Ok so the shift light is at 8.5K rpm as informed to me (i never hit 8.5k rpm though i did hit ~130 km/h) so I don't know if its the redline as well.
Exhaust note is quite bassy and is conspicuous when accelerating, not so much when cruising at steady speeds. The exhausts have some deceleration crackle and pop and that sounds really nice.

As for the weight it is felt, more so than the old P200 that I own. But is very stable when blasting down the highways.

Yes i don't quite understand how the Mahindra marketing machine is working here - no adverts of any sort. I just put in my contact details in the website that went live and was contacted by the Whitefield showroom. It so happened that I was already in that area at a friend's house and so could drop in 5 minutes after their call.

Hi Tanay,

Congrats on the purchase. Wishing you that you will get a great product as XUV500 in the bike's form.

When I see you sitting on the bike in the picture, I am feeling that there is very less space for the pillion. What do you think?
About the torque, will it pull good with pillion?
I'm also wondering why does it need two exhaust. Does it do any good functionally other than adding weight?

I usually occupy a lot of space on any bike - see this pic and notice how far away I am from the tank -

I think that the pillion will have adequate space - not as much as a regular commuter motorcycle but not as little as say a FZ or a Duke. Also, the entire seat is vvery well padded and should be quite comfortable.

During the long test ride, there was a person from the showroom with me as pillion (I was alone during the city test ride) and there seemed to be no noticeable difference in the bike's behavior. I think this will handle a pillion just fine as it has plenty of torque.

About the exhaust I honestly don't know, I'd have preferred a single or maybe a Duke-style underbody one. Even the showroom people did not know.

This exaxtly what Pulsar CS should've been all along. Not that I care anymore TBH. I'm getting one in January(just so that the RC says 2016). How much is it anyway?

Showroom guy says 100% below 2 lakh on-road Bangalore (which has the highest road tax) but I'm thinking 1.5 to 1.7. Lets see on the 16th of Oct.
The booking amount is 100% refundable in case of nasty surprises.

I accept you (as you are) | WordReference Forums

For me the phrase "I accept you (as you are)" carries *all* of the following meanings: I respect you (as you are); I don't/won't judge you arbitrarily; I won't reject you (for any reason); I affirm your worth (as a human being); you are welcome here (in my life); I willingly offer you all the mercy & compassion you deserve (as a human being); I care about your well being; I am your friend (no matter what); I reaffirm our friendship.

-------------------------------------------

You, sir, need to stop looking for excuses to pick fights and constantly provoke me.

In simple English, "I wont judge you (for that)" means I dont blame you for doing what you are doing.

In this context, it means that you are well within your right to wait for the CS. I dont actually have an opinion to pass about it. But if you want to construe and twist and turn my post into a manner which suits your interests, well, you may do so. Thats what the entire TV Media in this country does, and nobody does anything to them.

And as for my post, I *OPENLY CHALLENGE* anybody who has a good command over English Language(someone who does this for a living preferably, like a grammar teacher) to prove that that there was even an iota of malice in my post. I *DOUBLE DARE*
