A dual channel ABS from Bosch would have jacked up the price by nearly 15-20k on the 200s
I agree bro, Just asked because KTM India site is showing so .
I am planning to buy RC 200 so asked showroom guy, even they were confused.

Yes unfortunately its the european spec. I have sent them an email requesting for clarification for a possible Misprint.Originally posted by dineshwheelz View PostI agree bro, Just asked because KTM India site is showing so .

Rest assured you are not getting ABS on the 200 models atleast not for 2016 models

there is a clear colour difference between the actual plate that touches the pads and the one that holds the plate.. i.e. the one between the plate and the wheel..
so that colour difference is due to two different pieces of metal being stuck.. @Divya Sharan, KTM marketed the RC as floating discs.. IDK but mine don't "float" :P
they are really tight.. do not wobble/make sound.. funny..relax guys.Originally posted by jRay View PostIn the owners manual (for 2015 variant) it's mentioned floating only on the rear disc and not the front. And also the front disc is shown to be 300mm, is that correct? I always thought it was 280mm
the ktms (200 and 390) have a floating (also called sliding) caliper at the rear and a fixed caliper at the front. One part of the rear caliper slides on a pin to engage the pads onto the rotor. I remember mentioning earlier about caliper greasing, where the pin is greased to enable smooth operation. I have had it done when i noticed a 'thuck' sound at times while using the rear brake. Get the caliper greased every year or so.
It's not floating rotors, which is a totally different thing.
A fixed caliper offers better braking than a floating caliper. Do read up some info on 'fixed and floating' calipers.

Re: KTM 2016 updates for 200/390
Update
Today I went to SVC for first free service.my bike is Jan 2016 with DRL.it didn't had the updated tyres.so I thought its just the DRL.
Later the service guy confirmed that I have all the goodies of 2016 ,it's just that I haven't got the tyres.mine also came with numberplate.
So if anyone has bought the 2016 models, even if it didn't had the tyres, doesnt mean you haven't got the 2016 goodies(like bigger brakes etc etc )

Nope.if it was then I wouldn't have got the 390 handlebars and bigger disks.any model with the DRL is 2016 model.Originally posted by Gopu92 View PostThe updated models started production in February I think
Also can you confirm if the 300mm disks started coming with the 2016 model?

The multiple changes are Minor changes, not Significant changes. The early January 2016 units are 2015 models manufactured in 2016. The 2016 models showed up in the showrooms towards teh end of January.Originally posted by xplod566 View PostWhen I bought it price was still the same.and also there are multiple changes.the changes are the one which was mentioned in the OT.

Yes I have the DRL ones but came with numberplate.there was a confusion if the Jan models got only the DRL or both the upgrades and DRL.when I confirmed with SVC they told all DRL ones are 2016 ones with the upgrades.BTW did you shortlist which bike you will be taking.I think you wanted to go for the 390?
