Why are the 2016 Editions taking forever to come to showroom / for sale? I've been waiting for nearly two weeks and none of Chennai have them. They all have 2016 manufactured (2015 models) bikes and until those are sold, they aren't ordering the new batch which would have the 2015 editions.

These specs may or may not make it into the Indian version of the bike, this was mentioned somewhere.

That's a host of changes for Duke 200.
Did they do anything to fix the mud splash on the back of pillon and rider?

These updates are for the Indian models. They are already here. Please visit your local KTM dealer to confirm.

Does the mud splash occur while the tire hugger is attached or when its removed? Mud splashing on the back of the pillion or the rider is not a 'problem' per se.
Its a Naked bike afterall not a commuter.

Yes it happens with the hugger.
Well if someone is sitting in the back (eg parents etc) then it will be really embarrassing if there is mud all over the pillons back.or imagine one is going to office and finds mud all over the back on rainy season

Well first of all, its not the problem of the bike. Its the problem of the road conditions in India. Theres mud everywhere. And this is a Naked bike, the rear tire isnt enclosed within the body of teh bike like most commuters.

Second, you should not complain a whole lot about Rainy season. You are not supposed to ride bikes in Rain if you can help it. If at all you do ride in the rain, you gota do so at painfully slow speeds just so you keep the splashing at a minimum. The tire hugger does a decent job of deflecting the splash. Also the 'office' statement that you gave, it looks like you dont wear a jacket while riding to office? No gear while going to office? Thats bad. Jacket with a rain liner will save you from all the mud and rain provided you wear one.

Also I have never heard any Duke owner, seat their parents as pillion

Just To enlighten you more the problem is with the tyre profile may be and the water splashing is pretty much high.check duke200 forum where I asked the same question and they told there is no solution to it and some were pretty pissed at it.

Forbidden to ride in rain?never heard of it.one can ride in any condition unless he knows what he is doing !

I do wear a jacket but its just that embarrassing moment when you cross through a cowdung(aka shit) and then while you reach office you see that you smell like shit.that's embarrassing right? Happened to one of my friend and I know how it feels!

Strange that duke owner doesn't let their parents sit.wonder why !!!!

Re: KTM 2016 updates for 200/390

Most of the changes are as a response to the unique Indian conditions. Fork seal covers/boots, Rear Seat comfort, Improved alloys.
I did my CBT here in the UK a few days ago and a teenager had also come on his Duke 125.It had an arrow exhaust and made some great noise. In his many thousand miles of ownership the seals were never busted. He wasn't even aware of the fork seal /alloy issues. In all my time here I can count the number of times I have seen bikes with a pillion on the road.
So it would be unlikely these changes are not for the Indian market when it looks like the improvements made are specifically for the Indian conditions, looks at least to me.
Amazing how that KTM keeps on improving an already competent package.

Once again, its not the problem of the bike. (And you think it happens with only this bike? It happens/will happen with all nakeds)

I never said you are forbidden to ride in the rain, but if you do, then dont complain about rainwater splashing everywhere

I believe you can see cowdung from afar. Shouldnt be a problem maneuvering out of its way. If you cant do that, then I dont know why you are riding a bike.

Strange that you havent realized by this point in time that the rear seat is non-existent.

You are just giving excuses to put the blame on the bike when in fact the bike has nothing to do with all your issues. Its a Naked bike not an All-purpose bike.
