It is not tubeless. For spoke to be tubeless the setup needs to be differentOriginally posted by petervarughese View PostThey have just announced it as CEAT dual purpose tyres and no other details has been provided ... There are chances of it being tubeless .. Since tubeless serves the purpose better..

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Launched at Rs 178872/- On Road Mumbai!
Test drove the Royal Enfield Himalayan at East End showroom, Bangalore.
My observations :
1. Comfortable riding position
2. White colour looks stunning
3. Excellent road presence
4. Apt suspension setup for Indian road conditions
5. Brakes are among the best from Royal Enfield, has adequate bite
6. Hard clutch almost comparable to duke 390
7. Ride height is suitable for anyone over 5.6''
8. Engine is smoother compared to other enfields but not in the league of Japs, exhaust note is like a mix of CL350 and Apache RTR 180...you may feel it's more RTR type with louder bass. People looking for thump, will feel disappointed.
9. At higher RPMs the vibes are well controlled
10. The handlebar position is closer to your chest, comfortable for long sojourns
11. Couldn't check headlight brightness and throw( as I rode it in broad daylight )
12. Bookings has started, Rs.1,84,000/- onroad bangalore
13. Waiting period of 3 months
14. Hassle free test drive experience, give your Driving licence, take the bike for a spin
15. White looks bigger than the black n for smaller riders, it may seem intimidating.
16. Last but not the least, finishing looks good, the console itself is super attractive giving you a plethora of information( heck, it even has a compass n temp gauge), switches on the console seem well built and gives you an assuring feel, paint quality especially the matt white is top notch, dual purpose ceat tyres looks fantastic.
All in all, it seems like Royal Enfield have a winner on their hands.

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Launched at Rs 178872/- On Road Mumbai!
well can't understand the logic of RE ,
at least 4 states are banning all vehicles which are not BS-IV standard , so No Himalayan will be sold there , and by next year it will be mandatory to go for BS-IV standard. that time Himalayan can't be sold in India, so they have to come up with New Engine with mandatory ABS/CBS along with FI [most likely to meet BS-IV]
so why they hurried ?? and knowing that new improved model will come how people will buy it now ?

Sirji, I think mandatory ABS/C-ABS is only proposal stage. Unless somebody makes it a law, RE is not going to implement it. And if they do, I hope it is switchable, so in offroad, people can slide their rear still. And if I would be buying Himalayan, I would be wary of RE-ABS. It may be more dangerous than No-ABS, at least for first few yearsOriginally posted by nagoo View Postwell can't understand the logic of RE ,

FI, I read somewhere, will happen in April 2017. I think it is a brilliant marketing strategy. First you launch a bare-bones version for a good prize (with typical RE newborn tantrums). Once it generates market interest and the waiting list becomes 8-10months (possible by April 2017), launch the Improved FI-Himalayan at 10-20% markup. This way the buyer will still feel he is getting VFM, while the RE cash registers keep ringing.
Let us be frank, our Indian buyers always follow the market leaders. If the initial pricing is perceived as high, the product is going to fail (remember Inazuma?).
PS: Which are the 4 states you have mentioned? As far as I know only Delhi cannot have BS-III motorcycles. As per this link, 41 other motorcycles including Bajaj V15 are also affected.

So we can see lot of new bike launches by April 2017 .

Re: Royal Enfield Himalayan Launched at Rs 178872/- On Road Mumbai!
Hey guys...
I am not an expert but am familiar with classic 350, i use it daily and had over 750kms in a day, i had a test ride of the HIMALAYAN today from chennai vellacherry showroom and i loved the performance of the bike ..
I am 5'3 and i am a small guy and was afraid that i will not be able to handle the weight... But the bike was butter smooth and found it very easy to ride...
All the observations made by the other people is the same what i felt when i rode the bike
The bike just moves forward upto 40 and u wont even feel that the bike is in 1st gear...
Totally and awesome exp
I inquired to the showroom ppl about the issues with the rule and they very casually said that "sir this bike is the best from RE and no rules can stop this one"
I would like to say if any small guys like me planning to buy this one it would not be a pain to ride this one and the weight is quite manageable...
The only thing i found a bit odd was the center portion where HIMALAYAN is written finds a bit odd as it bulges out a bit but overall the bike is awesome!!!
Heads up to RE[emoji1417][emoji1417][emoji1417][emoji1417]
