Yeah.. Most reviews point that...But i liked the pickup and could live with the vibes of C5. But Himalayan being an offering by the same company with improvements from their previous products, is wise to spend on that, i think so. As someone said the loss in torque could be made up by far superior comfort offered by Himalayan.

Havnt test ridden yet- Test ride starts by April 1 only, said by the dealer.

Could anyone point out the least waiting period mentioned by RE. The showroom i checked out said there first bike will be delivered to a media person on April 4th and it will be the first delivery of a Himalayan. The reason he said was it will give good publicity for the bike. But i didnt get the logic of getting publicity by sale to a regional media person when there are experienced hardcore bikers all over India!

Considering the power it makes expect it to be around 25-30kmpl (Depending upon the riding)
No replacement for an engine Displacement

Can't wait to ride this bike and find out for myself!
But dunno how it would look riding in the city! Certainly out of place

That's low. For average Indian like me it makes a big thumbs down. Anything below 40 makes it a no go for me. But that's me.

bikes with more than 200 cc engine capacity hardly manage fuel efficiency of 40 kpl.

              cheers

I wonder how much mileage moto go riders must be getting.

                    Hello RF Fans,

I have taken a TD of Himalayan and found that is amazing bike from RE, its a great milestone from them.
I found its suspension and riding comfort awesome, I can say its new SUV bike which can used in city for comfort.
While driving on rough patch of worst road me and my wife as a pillion found it very much smooth ride. I found its acceleration with great pickup and experience little thump of RE as inherited but not quite for long time, when I accelerate its realy hroooooommmm...... like a mountain bike. I can say its a class to drive it. Also a fit and finish quality is best white matte color look stunning with black matte bars...and RE badge.

It dint have kick start, but I think it should not matter as TB 500 and C 500 I heard wont start with kick if battery is down, so hence forth with new digital ingination system we have to keep watch on battery every time before we drive and take good care of it to maintained good condition.

its waiting period will be 2 to 3 months or more....

Test rode Himalayan only today. As several forums discussed the bike have many positives- like good suspension, comfortable riding stance, comfy seat cushioning, efficient braking, lesser vibes etc. But one of the two things that make me reconsider the buy is engine clattering noise from starting onwards. I felt irritating and doubts about frequent service centre visits and future maintenance cost creeps to mind. The test ride bike I rode had some odd 350+ km in it. But I also need to keep in mind the fact that the bike was test ridden rigorously without any rest today as the test ride only started today and i rode by evening for about 6km. The exhaust also seems to make popping sounds which maybe due to poor carb tuning or is it like it on all bikes?. The other thing for me is unnecessary comparison of torque with the RE500 which makes me feel Himalayan undertorqued also(it is definitely underpowered).

The showroom had there first delivery today for a mediaperson and I eagerly waited for he starting the bike and and as a relief that bike didnt had the clattering noise.
Also the bike had a centre stand too.

1)Test ride bikes being ridden the entire day is like you travelling with the bike from state to state on a 1 day ride. Its best not to judge the bikes behavior at the end of the day this way. [emoji1]

2)The rtr180 sounds this way too. Ive heard this makes for the character of the bike.

                          3) The centre stand might be an added accessory while buying the bike. What one should note is, if the Chain is not taut enough (meaning well adjusted with no slack) chances are it can touch the centre stand and eventually start sawing right through the stand also while damaging the Chain itself while putting the bike through its pace..

My concern is only about the gears being extremely notchy. It took an effort to get it into first gear from neutral, let alone Shifting up to higher gears. Did you have the same issue?

I too like to look at this the same way. But i also consider different riders riding differently. Only a few may ride a test ride bike like their own bike. Most others ride the heck out of it. The salesman who attended me told me how one rider changed gear to 1st while riding at 80+ speed insanely !!

2)The rtr180 sounds this way too. Ive heard this makes for the character of the bike.

Most sites said there wont be any centre stand provided, while the RE guys arent even aware about the buzz

Not at all.. I double checked it. The gears slotted perfectly without feeling neither so much softness nor hardness. The clutch felt somewhat hard for my small palm even though not hard like the initial batch Duke390. I dont think it'll be a problem. But yeah, the gear shift works fine.

This doesnt look good for RE!

Its believed to be a head on collision with a Honda Dio has ended up like this. Not much in depth details about the incident in Rush lane.

Either this news has to be fake or RE is in serious trouble here.
