      They can come up in 150 , 200 cc segment any time, don't forget the legendary ZMR,
      If they will fix the styling and add 130 or 140 rear Tyre + mono suspension , tell me who won't like to buy it.
      India is country with less Metro cities and not much people want to spend money on super bikes.
      Company put their investment accordingly , hero target is 100cc where majority of Indian go.
      But now since gov is doing good and we can see good roads even in rural areas compare to last decade so its obvious people want to upgrade to 150.
      200 cc is still tricky game tricky for Indian company.

        Never get why motorcycling sites in this country are so sore about the scooter market these days. The segment is so popular that almost all the manufacturers are now focusing on it, and that includes Aprilia who's first localized product is a 150cc scooter. Yamaha, Suzuki, TVS, Mahindra and even Hero wants a share of that big scooter pie which is why they're all bringing in more and more models to compete. They're all in it for the 2 wheeler market pie charts afterall.

          4 lac, 1.25 lac? What are you even referring to? Didn't Activa top Splendor sales for the last 7 months or so?

            Honda -(minus symbol) activa is 1.25 lacs sales of bikes which is one third of the sales of hero bike's.

                Why must one minus the Activa is what I'm asking given that they're both two wheelers/motorcycles especially in an era where 3 wheeled trikes are classified as motorcycles too.


                As for this news article, I just read a year old article stating Hero has to pay royalties to HMSI till June 2017 for continued use of 4 products namely Maestro, Impulse, Passion XPro and Ignitor.





                As for 2015-2016 that isn't listed in this chart, the royalty paid was 80 crores. Hero says 2016-2017 royalty will also be less.

                So I'm guessing their new products are a means to phase out these 4 models so as to end the Royalty payments altogether.

                  He meant to say that Activa is the only reason for Honda to survive in India.. in other worss, Honda is dependent on Activa and for Hero it doesn't depend on Splendor alone..

                      Are you not upto date? They already have the Xtreme sports. They already have the new Hunk.. no news on Karizma twins and Impulse though.

                        no i am not upto date I am yet to see new hunk or xtreme sports on the road,however i daily see freshly bought pulsar 220,pulsar rs 200,pulsar 150,Apache,bikes from royal Enfield family,karizma along with zmr,activa and some other motorcycle and gearless scooter .

                          Pretty much doubt that. At 1.29 lakh units of motorcycles alone, they are still the second largest motorcycle only manufacturer in India no?

                          If you include the Passion in this list along with the Shine, it makes for 2 high selling models. Not to forget the Maestro and Ignitor which are also bringing them the numbers through royalty.




                          If I can recall my memory, HMSI only started motorcycle manufacturing in 2008 isn't it? The Stunner/Ignitor and Uni 150 came about in 2008? So its only been an 8 year journey for motorcycles in India for them?

                            Unfortunate. I see plenty of Xtreme sports on road if not too many.. atleast more than the Apache RTR200.. I dont see the new P220s much these days.. RE. Yes, a plenty making noise

                              They had upgraded the Achiever few years ago but it was unsuccessful! Lets see what more they can do in Achiever!

                                This is just a prototype.. it will take time to make it to production and not even sure if it will make it..
