Yamaha has finally answered the issue of the odd pillion seat issue of the otherwise brilliant R15 v2.0. They have launched a single-seat variant(like the V1.0) naming it YZF R15-S. The specs should be the same as in the R15 v2.0. However, the R15-S will be dearer by 500 bucks. But, that should not be an issue with people looking for a comfortable ride! Both the split-seat and single-seat will be available simultaneously. Now, it remains to be seen whether they do it on the R3 in future or not!

With the pillion seat sorted out, I see trouble for honda CBR 150R.

That is a Brilliant move. In my opinion Yamaha has done a survey well and having both v2 and this along side is a great strategy. Not sure why Yamaha India is still not updated yet.

I am just not able to figure out two things. Does this mean the pillion's elevated position is back to normal. Looking at the images I also feel the riding position is upright unlike the existing set up.Comment

This is very nice considering the conditions in India where people like to travel with pillion most times. Now we can travel with our Mom's on R15 :P
I wish they had released one with 200 or 250 cc as well with the same posture.Comment

Good news. But not much information on engine whether it will be same as v 2.0 or not. I know it will be silly to think that R15 S will be using V 1.0 engine. Still just looking for more info.Comment
