The longer wheelbase of the P180 UGIV (which is equal to that of the P200) is responsible for the bigger turning radius.. and NOT the tank scoops.

For verification, take the P150 UGIV (it too has got the tank scoops) for a spin.. it still retains its old Wheelbase.

A big bike (P180 UGIV) will need more room to maneuver.. if that's an issue then its better to settle for a smaller bike.

      • the horns and headlight are really good.especially i'm mighty impressed with the horns they r loud and do justice to their work.

some more improvements which i felt could make the bike better:

the rvm's are short they only show ur biceps.

large turning radius is a headache, yesterday while taking a u turn i tried minimizing the radius by sort of bending the bike this resulted the bike ending up on my leg and i had to literraly lift it then with one leg aand hands pulling it the other side

the bike does'nt seem to have pick up even passions and platinas keep overtaking, yes even i don't go hard at the throttle but still!!

the 1 st gear starts to die at just 16 kmph(4k rpm) the second screeches
at 24 (4krpm)and the third at 31-33(4k rpm)
i'm really pissed off. people say it has better mid and top end but sadly i cant't break the 4k rpm range
so is it that the bike has this pathetic a low end or is it that i'm an isolated case here. tell me guys where is all that 17ps power??

guys please guide me with runnin
        upshift rpm's for various gears

want to know something the idling rpm is at around 1700 is it normal?
        Literate people go by specifications.sigpic

Well the UG4 180 produces lesser torque than UG3, so thats probably the reason for a pathetic low end.

When my bike was running in (not Pulsar), I used to shift at ~3-3.5K rpm (to 2nd gear at around 10kmph, 3rd gear at 20-22kmph, 4th at around 30kmph and 5th at around 45kmph). Initially I felt very irritated coz on my dad's Splendor I used to shift to 2nd gear at 20kmph, 3rd at 30kmph and 4th at 45-50kmph, but I've gotten used to it now.

Payeng, I didn't take the test ride of P150, so can't confirm about its turning radius. I understand that longer wheelbase results in longer turning radius (obviously). But if you observe the handle and tank fins from top, they clearly collide very early, thus making the turning angle very small, effectively enlarging the turning radius.

Handlebar hitting the fins is easily visible, do check it. Some electric bikes handles turn almost 90 degrees both ways, so their turning radius is extremely small (ya, i know about the length). If you tilt the handle olny 20 degrees rather than 40 degrees, simple geometry tells you that turning radius will be bigger!

Idling speed is on the higher side i guess...
Check out your manual for it.

About power....buddy just wait for the run-in period to get over and its good you are not ripping your bike out of anger or anything....

The bike does have lesser low-end torque...comparing it with UG3....!

                      • U mean the metal part? Which most Bajaj bikes in Blore have?

If it s that metal mud guard below the engine it s fine. If it s plastic and if it covers the front part of the engine ,i wont recommend it as it ll restrict air flow
