  • the rear grab rails aren't really much help. but the rear seat is comfortable enough. no more than enough. the rider's seat is just great.

the only thing i noticed is the rear suspension which is not hard enough for cornering even at the hardest setting. but then this bike is more of a sports tourer with the sporty sitting position and the higher placed power output. so the suspension fits the bill completly as it's tuned for comfort.

Not if you're holding the grab rails

        • IMHO, the split grabrails are much easier to hold than the conventional ones. The pillion rider need not take his/her hands all the way back.

Pushing? U have the handlebar for that.

Please read the full post to which I replied.
And I suppose everyone holds on the side of the grab rails rather than the centre portion that is missing in split grab rails. So what's the point?
Besides feeling a bit dodgy while moving the bike,I dont see any fault with the split ones.

                • You guys have way too much free time.

The grab rails are the same as those on a 200 or 220.
Did anyone complain when those bikes were launched??

                  @rajasthan_royals

                  What is your problem buddy??
If you hate pulsars then please dont come here and give such idiotic comments.
Everyone knows the seat has got wider. And hence more comfortable.
I have test driven the 180UG4 in the same conditions as i ride my ug3.And I must tell u that it is hell lot of comfy than my UG3.The grab rails too are good. It depends on whether u hold them right.
I have ridden pillion millions of times with my friends who have such grab rails on their pulsars. be it modded ug3s or 200s.
I never slipped because of lack of proper grip on the rail. The grab rail is however not effective for dragging the bike off the center stand.

                  Please dont make baseless claims.

                      • I took a test ride of the new P180 on saturday. The bike is definitely become smoother. However, I felt the pickup to be slightly sluggish, and the fins on the tank, though they add to the beauty, affect the turning radius to a large extent, so the bike is not as quickly flickable as before.

The footpegs are rearset, in fact i accidentally put my right leg on the brake first before realizing the pegs are rear set. My hands were bit tired after the test ride, but that may be because I am not use to this position and put too much weight on my hands.

Anyone who is focused on buying a pulsar, should seriously consider this upgrade. Priced 4k above p150, the bike is worth the extra money. The fat tires, front forks and whole masculine body is really appealing to Pulsar fans.

I did not find the sitting to be as comfortable as GS150R, but then my requirements from bike are different. If you are comfortable with sporty sitting style and Bajaj tag, p180 may just be the right match for you!

If I go by the words of my "friendly" showroom guy; when I asked him why there's so much wait for the new 180 he said, that Khivraj is trying to clear up the UG3 lot, which are lots in numbers!

BTW isn't it strange, UGIV has still not come on roads in Bangalore!

even in bhilai there is the ug4
sure the showroom has an extra stock of ug3's left but then maybe the showroom people are not ordering any new ones....in bhilai we are getting ug3 p150 for 60k just to clear stock
there are only 2 bikes left now
                              also,
my friend's 150 ug4 has completed 3000kms and has been to 2 servicings
problems.....the chain was loose and a nut holding the saree guard fell off
                              average 55kmpl
top speed taken 119.8 according to E71's gps 124 on speedo so i guess there is not much of a speedo error
there has been slight handling issues as the new bike is not as flickable in city as mu ug2 or my ug3 maybe because of the tank extensions....but then its a joy to overtake trucks in the national highways as it gives a better stable feel
                              no issues with the gearbox
no false neutrals and no harshness
best part...............vibrations above 90kmph MUCH less than my 150/180s

ps can anyone tell me if i can have those 180 clip ons installed on the older pulsars/?
if yes please give me the price
