2009 Pulsar 180 UG IV : Details out

    As per the user's manual the level was to be checked with the cap fully unscrewed. But I could never get anything by that method. and the guys at the asc told that it was wrongly printed. It was to be fully screwed in to check the level.
    Abt the window. If i'm assuming it's the right one,
    It's on the top of the LHS casing. you could see the stator or whatever rotating but never the oil level coz it's horizontal and you look down it.
    Or do I have something grossly wrong here?
    Classics, UG1's and UG2's have dipsticks mate. Cos they dont have any glass observation window!

    Ug3's,UG4's,200's and 220's have this glass window for observing oil level and no dipstick

        I was obviously talking abt the UG4 mate, according to gokul's query.

              • for all those prospective ug4 bikers,when u buy one,put a whole can of motul "competition" not factory line,and see ur bike go haywire and smoothy all time.

                the ug3 adapts to competition but not factory line.we all know the reason.so i know that it costs a lot.but to maintain the machine expenses have to bared.

                and i also know that petronas and others provide synthetics at lower rates.but competition is another league.there will be some stock even if its out of prodn.

                i have been running it for my ug3 the past 15000kms.its worth every drop.

                            • a quick ride report:

                              LOOKS: actually i was overwhelmed by the fact that even a pulsar can grab so many eyeballs,i had a decent number of pillions asking me about the bike.the bike distinguishes it self from other pulsars .

                              bottomline:enjoying the uniquity.

                              COMFORT:the handle looks and works good ,the split seats offer ccomfort.but the rear grab rails are literally useless.

                              HANDLING:the bike is bit on the heavier side.(adapting from scooty to pulsar would take time),the bike is smooth,the first two gears are shortlived,the gear shifting is smooth and did'nt trouble,finding neutrals was easy.

                              and now for the million dollar question

                              MILEAGE:need to check it will update soon.

                              well on the whole i'm enjoying the ride as of now.

                              some cons: rear grab rails, short 1st and 2nd gears,no stand for ladies to place their legs on when sitting sideways,the digital console could have had a clock and a gear indicator,large turning radius,the pillion feels insecure(from my friends views who sat pillion)
