Right, you sound simple and logical. What are Apaches and RTRs afterall, they are all derivatives of Suz. Fiero, ofcourse with tweaks. A150 sounded as if it's going to sink all 150cc bikes in one stroke, then it won mind boggling awards, only to be taken off shelf within 1.5 years or so. Then RTR, then RTR Fi all were having some 'vibration' issues. Anyone would expect TVS to rectify this on priority basis. Some time back people used to say "Even a Rolls Royce vibrates, so what.." ?...hope TVS doesn't have such mindset.

Let's see few more ownership views and reviews. I still hope RTR180 will be vibes free compared to the earlier versions, else it's a beating to TVS reputation and erosion in terms loyalty to TVS.

Edit - How does it compare with your P220?
Can't really compare it with the P220, both are different bikes. Ofcourse the handling/braking on the RTR is way better any day. The engine fun factor is another story!

Making me happy as I read these more and more and I always loved RTR.

But as I described in http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/motorcyc...tml#post231315 .. I did feel vibes in the test ride at least more than RTR FI.

Service center guy claimed mileage to 40-45kmpl for this bike.

    - Bike is just feels like a RTR.
    - Visually the from the rear the 110 is making its presence felt and adds to the bike's character.
    - Vibes percived are a lot lesser than the 160's. I did not feel much of the trademark handlebar vibes of the 160 on this 180.
    - Exhaust growl is good, but not better than the 160 Fi.
    - I am not aware of the exact specs, has the swingarm length increased?!? The bike's handling is not as razor sharp as the 160, or this is what I felt.
    - At higher RPM's the tacho needle goes into a wild tizzy.
    - Breaking is the same as the RTR 160.
    Less vibes.. Good

I did a very short test drive of 180 today. I have not driven 160.

I expected vibrations as it is a common feedback about 160. On the contrary I found the bike well refined.

The acceleration is very good in low and mid range. I could not check the high end as it was a short drive. The bike revs freely and the rpm needle goes wild at higher gears.

I am 6'2" tall and found the seating position sporty and quite comfortable, though it is not apt for long drives.

The handling seems to be good - I could not test it in the short test drive.

    The ride comfort is good.

I think the bike is good VFM and great for city use with enough thrills for an enthusiast.

    Peformance....
I rode a bike that just had 30Kms on the odo, so the performance characteristics will be a lot different once the engine has bed in properly post the 5K mark. The bike hit 93 on the speedo in about 2/3rd of a kilometer with a pillion and improper shifts. The rushing urge of the 160 Fi is missing here. But the bike definitetly felt a bit faster than the 160 carb. The power band also felt a bit more wide spread. There was a decent tug post the 6K RPM mark.

All said and done, this is probably the bike that has the best compromises of all things possible. Able performer, superb braking, excellent handling, decent component reliability & VFM.

I would rate it as the almost perfect bike on indian roads!

^^ Yeah u r right.. Reading your experience I'm happy that I didn't make it to the showroom.. This is similar to my experience when FZ-16 was launched.. I had to explain the details of the bike to the showroom guys instead of them telling me
