That's really applaudable!! I still will have to wait for a TR of the bike as there are no signs of any launch here.It will take at least 8-10 days before the bike finds its way out here.

What about Indiranagar Branch. Is it available there for Test Ride.

                • I booked a 220 yest...OTR Pune is 78105. Probiking ppl said that the delivery will be approximately done by end of this month. Reason for the delay being that the bikes still not got TC passing from Mumbai RTO.

Quite surprising to see you go for the P220, I thought you would have gone for the ZMA again!

                          • Have u see Yam's claim.

Yamaha India launched their Daytona racing kit for its YZF-R15 which enables the bike to reach a top speed of 150 kmph. The aim was to destroy Bajaj Auto’s claim that their newly launched 2009 Pulsar 220 edition was the fastest production bike in the Indian market.
Bajaj is claiming that their new Pulsar model can touch a top speed of 144kmph. That record has now been broken by the Yamaha’s modified bike.
Yamaha India representative had this to say at the launch event: “Bajaj’s claim lasted for only four days”.
TVS Motor has also just launched the new version of their Apache RTR. The company said: “There was a gap in the market for fast bikes. And the new Apache was meant to fill that gap. But more than top speed, in this country, acceleration is more meaningful to buyers. They can at least feel it.”

I think racing kit is very costly.. Still 220 holds VFM performer position..

                            • Shows immaturity on Yamaha's officials part. Thats it. I am no racer and even a very very modest racer will make me bite the dust but I do have courage to drive my bike fast on a straight and empty road for which I do getup early in the mornings many times to feel that wind and rush of blood. Now how on earth do I garner 1.6 Lakhs to do this on a Yam when I can very well do this with a 220 costing less then 80K on road.

Err.. its actually illegal to ride with the race kit on a public road.
The race kit is meant to be ridden on a closed circuit, read that as the Chennai or he Coimbatore race tracks only for India.

But would that actually stop guys from riding it on the streets..?? Debatable.. considering all that one needs is a few hundered rupees for our friendly neighbouring pandus at bay.

The P220 DTSi remains the Fastest Indian Road Legal Production Bike.
