regardless of what you carry - if a cop wants to harass you , he does and people pay because they do not want to go through the hassles.rules are there and our cops are here to break them.To me I don't think it makes a huge difference- not that the message is not useful but because the cops are so damm adamant and IGNORANT of the Law

Also I believe similar rules exists in the other states too. Jagran CityPlus
Nice info there. Does anyone know, whether this rule exists in Hyderabad or not. Would be of great help if it does

Since he couldnt talk English and I am not fluent in kannada , he gave me this no 22942113. I talked to this person who could speak English. He asked me from where I got the news, I mentioned CityPlus online site.
Then he forwarded the call to another official and he confirmed its true.
If we have license and have not broken the rules , police cannot ask us pay penalty
ashwin: if something goes wrong, we call up 22942113 then?
i mean, if some cop stops me unnecessarily and harasses me, whom am i to call? most of these incidents happen at night esp @mysore road and airport road. so what number would be available 24x7 to make a call?

This act of BTP is definitely irritating. The cops have stopped me several times to do these checks, & everytime I had all documents in place.. I infact feel sorry for the cops whenever they stop me, coz I know they're not going to gain anything from stopping me for those unwarranted checks..

Had an unpleasant experience with these losers on my way back home from the airport today. Pls check it out: http://www.xbhp.com/talkies/pit-stop...tml#post235313

Seriously I have ridden in 3-4 states in India, and I find the traffic police in Bangalore to be the most oppertunistic, greedy and irrational !!

But I have noticed they depend on the "no resistance from the public" theory !!

No offence to anyone, but if you are a non-kannadiga they try to get really aggressive and apply pshycological pressure on you.

But then its very easy to get by, just resist !! I always keep arguing, but am never impolite and always with a smile on my face !! Make sure you let them know that you know the laws and won't just fall for their bullshit !!

And almost everytime they let me go, I shake hands with them and say thank u. Its just that we shud not make them fell that we have defeated them or something, in that case they'll get adament !!

I have generally found the RTO to be much more of a nuisense than the traffic police !!
Kawasaki Ninja : Because lazy sunday afternoons should be despatched at 160 kmph!!!
Hyosung Aquila : Because sometimes you need to look cool while riding at 40 kmph and you can do that only on a cruiser !!!

There are few things we can do which are very useful and easy to carry like the one below,
Sood explained: “There is a provision of a master card from RTO, which is proof that the driver has all valid documents. If one is carrying the master card, he/she need not carry any other documents.’’
This was taken from the article.

Not sure if this Master Card is for Private vehicles. It seems that it is for commercial vehicles especially the Autos

Yes, Fine for everything. But this site doesn't state that these documents can be checked anytime or only during a traffic violation.

I dont think you can call that now. Infac I asked the same question otehr day , what if they done agree. Then the official said call 100

But I think you dont have to do that. In case they dont leave you , you can note the police name and have the receipt and complain later.

Infact most of the police here know this rule.

The very next day of this tread my friend was caught for signal jump.
I was the pillion. There were 3 police. Initially they asked for 300. Both of us didnt had cash , we just had 50.
There was one more guy go got caught they just payed 50 bugs and they left thim. They did not take 50 from us. Then when I asked him why you accepted 50 from him in front of the main officer, he got angry and started scolding me in kannada and said will cease our bike.

I also got angry and asked him to mind his language and said that there is no rule to do such things. Then I told him about the rule and I said I will complain if you do that.

Then officer said we can go take cash from atm and pay now or pay it in court. We took cash from ATM and Paid 100rs.

Two days later my other firend this time in Car again signal jump (All of these are at the last moment with others , but we are the unlucky ones to get caught). Even they had all papers but were threaten to cease the car.

He called me askign about the rule. I told to say name of Praveen Sood and tell about the rule. Hearing that they left him just had to pay 100 rs fine for breaking rule.
