There has to be some equation between locality and top selling bikes....I traveled to Panchmadi from Bhopal recently. And All I could see was discover 135....there was hardly any pulsars or smaller discovers.Originally posted by rockinggokul View Post

^^ Lolzz
Guys, is this Discover100cc a Chinese made ? or is it the world's most fuel efficient bike ?
I think Bajaj has used all possible models (from Chetak4S to XCD135) to win numbers from HH 100cc, but only two were worthy competitors, the K-Boxer and K-Caliber.
Bajaj moved out of 100cc b'cos CT100 failed miserably, Platinas were not selling well. Though Bajaj said it's out of 100cc publicly, it is selling Platina 100cc - something not correct.

The reason behind is........ thier sales target is not reaching the way they estimated........
Bajaj thought thier XCD135 will reach a great Hit.....but the End of the results showed a different Face.....
There was something this or that missing in XCD......and customers are not ready to take risk on Bajaj or Tvs or Honda or Yami or Suzuki.....
Instead they end up on buying the reliable HH.........
Old engine....lessercc....more mileage......low maintenance.....this is what many people like as 99% of Indians are 99% commuters.......
And thats why they are still World's No1 in Two Wheeler manufacturere by Units........
So Bajaj is ending up to go for a reliable 100cc......with thier Reliable Brand name Discover.......

Coz in this war Power doesnt comes as a big deal....it reliability factor.....
Market leaders in 100cc Geared Bikes....
1) HH
2) TVS
3) Bajaj
well we can virtually say the competition is only between HH and TVS........

HH right now has virtually no competition for it 100 cc models.. with new 100 cc models coming in it will be interesting time for our 100 cc 'fixated' commuters.
The XCD 135 is good product.. but building a brand in the minds of customers takes time.. especially with conservative/non risk-taking type of commuters.
Meanwhile 'Discover' is already an established and reputed brand.. therefore its acceptance should be faster.

1. Right with the launch, Hondas 100cc share in the market is going to rise further !!Originally posted by payeng View Post1. Honda will enter the 100 cc space this year soon.. they had announced about this quite some time back.

2. You are wrong ! HH once had very good competition, don't forget Victor, Boxer, CT100, Platina, XCD125, Star City etc etc (no one asked Bajaj to move out of 100cc). It's b'cos of non-selling of TVS and Bajaj 100cc bikes, HH has emerged winner.
3. Do you mean HH 100cc buyers are all conservative ? What is wrong if a person choose reliable, proven bike (assume his bucks are hard earned) ??
4. Not reputed as CD-Delux or Splendor.Last edited by vipin_s; 07-08-2009, 10:26 PM.

sounds goodOriginally posted by parveenkumarparv View Postnew 100 cc discover features:-
-100 DTS-SI 2.0 engine (first time in 100 cc)
-New combustion chamber
-5 speed gear box (first time in 100 cc)
-Longer Wheelbase
-A mileage of 80 kmpl under actual driving conditions
**But all at affordable cost.
5th gear must be overdrive, cruise gear
but still good initiative
bajaj has always hit the nail on its head when it comes to pricing so of what i guess this bike would make a killer set of price and featuresLiterate people go by specifications.sigpic
