I saw news yesterday on NDTV.

Their Review about P220 DTSi, appears to be picked from xBHP.
Their 100cc Bike, clipping was showing discover.
And Ninja to be launched in 3 months... (They did not told which year, Clever!!!! )

Me too watched that news coverage ! It the same discover looks(not the new one), and it seemed like that it was the final product. They mentioned that it would sport a DTS-Si mill. Also they mentioned that they are banking upon the Discover's image for the name.

The boxer(CT) looked better than any of the 100cc competition IMO,looked nice and beefy, they spoiled the looks later by adding the visor and Ct-100 wasn't a good enough successor

All-black treatment wont look good on it i think :| not on favor of every bike splashed with black

This bike has been designed basis the following customer insights

                    1. An average commuter drives 50km every day.

                    2. Almost 25-30% of these commuters drive up to 100km in a day, 2-3 times every month.

                    3. The above puts a certain demand on the vehicle design to ensure that this ride is as comfortable and as convenient as possible. The all new 100cc Discover DTS-Si has been designed as the and will deliver the following.

                    4. World Class Mileage: Mileage which is way beyond what any existing 100cc bikes have to offer. Comprehensive road tests indicate an amazing mileage of 80 km/lit under actual driving conditions. This has been delivered with the combination of the proprietary twin spark technology, specially designed Pent-roof combustion chamber and 5 speed gear box. All these technologies are available in this segment for the first time.

                    5. Unmatched Durability: This has been delivered through the proven DTS-i technology platform, Molycote Piston and the sturdy Discover format.

                    6. Unmatched Comfort: This has been delivered through the longest wheelbase in the segment, anti-stiction bushes in the front forks, Nitrox suspensions and ergonomic seating.

One more report related to this bike: Bajaj Auto Discovers future's in 100cc bikes- Two-wheelers-Auto-News By Industry-News-The Economic Times

This is typical Bajaj pre-launch marketing. Hope the bike delivers in numbers for Bajaj.

Yeah but AFAIK they have planked a new engine on the boxer which looks beefy but is based on the same DTS SI logic...

Bajaj is guessing which marketing USP would make this bike a winner,

                          1. Mileage, previously they failed by claiming 109 kmpl for XCD / CT100/ Platina. Now they are lowering the mileage by saying 80kmpl in actual driving condition, worst part is they are saying most 100cc bikes give about 65kmpl, but D100 would fetch 80 kmpl. Mileage strategy according to me will not work !! (lowering the bench mark mileage mindlessly and projecting higher mileage for D100 !!)

                          2. Technology : DTS-Si (v2.0) sounds like latest anti-virus s/w !! Then they have Pent roof combustion chamber, sure it will attract even Mechanical/Automotive engineers !!

                          3. Long-Distance : This sounds absurd and illogical, who buys a bike for only long distance travelling? What will be the pulling power of the bike with two large adults in 5th gear on a upward sloping longish road ?? I think a 100cc is just a utility tool for variety of usage, mainly office going and general commuting. The idea of long distance is not right, Bajaj is branding XCD125/135 as short distance bike !!

                          4. Good -Ad : Good Ad + Good Bike is best combination . Let's see how this D100 will work out for Bajaj !!
