  • Went for booking... came back hugely disappointed

    Friends,

Yesterday went to PBK showroom in Pune at 3:30PM. Saw the bike and was speechless. It didn't feel 250cc at all. It was more like a 600cc. Anyways cutting short; I asked him about booking and got information that already 12 were booked with 40K as booking amount. I was ready for the booking but the sales person told that it will take 3 months to deliver the bike . I said I will have to spend 3 months sleepless night waiting eagerly for the beast. So gave him my contact details and informed him that I can wait for it for 1 month only and came back empty handed

              • Now that I have added my words in balance of the hysteria...I think I can join in the fun as well.

This bike will revolutionize the way Indian's approach motorcycles simply because it is so single-minded in it's purpose. The R15 had a full bag of tricks but not enough performance to back up it's claim to fame. The Ninja will show the R15 it's place on the road and on the track provided the tires are up to snuff.

Those of you who are buying the Ninja - please look up performance modifications specifically ways to free up the tardy bottom end and get the revs to build up quickly. Cams, Exhausts and Valves should do the trick. You should see the bright side of 35 RWHP with some pricey but well selected mods.

I am interested in knowing if a nice 50bhp 2-stroke motor can go into that chassis

It is indeed a bit frustrating. Reason : The bikes are assembled in Pune itself and hence we must not be having to wait for a period as long as 3 months. Even I have been told that I have to wait for a time period that ranges from 1.5 months to 3 months (3 months would be in the worst case).

This could be perhaps because Pune PBK is busy allocating bikes first to special people (Friends/relatives/VIPs/Influential people) and people who do not belong to either of those categories will have to wait a bit longer.

                          • Yesterday, a very close friend and brother, and a xBhpian - Born2Lead got delivery of the first ever Kawasaki Ninja 250R, in the whole of country! It was a HUGE occasion for the dealer, for Bajaj, and for everyone who had been connected some-way or the other with this whole scene.

Many officials were there for the delivery, including the area (North) sales manager, our very own Bajaj Probiking Assistant Manager Bandhav, and the dealer himself as well, who delivered the keys to B2L as well as the sweets!

Here are the very first pictures from the delivery.

@B2L: Congratulations for getting the 250R. She looks magnificient.
