I somehow still doubt. If they were launching a new bike, then the bikes would have been spotted testing by now.

that was not the case with fz-16 and fazer as they were spotted testing in India as well.

They were spotted testing 6 months after they had already been showcased at the Auto Expo! Do you want me to show you the photographs of the Auto Expo. Go to my Imageshack gallery!

I do not think this is a hoax as the few Yamaha people I met(when they came to service my bike on account of my complaint) had talked about the same atleast 6 months back!!! I had even posted the same on R15 ownership thread. All this might go down the drain unless their after-sales service is beefed-up. We do not want any more Rossiter-like cases here...

agree with you on that... but what about fazer?? was it also showcased in some auto expo around the world before it was spotted testing over here?? i agree that the entire development of the bikes might not be done in India, but it does not mean that they don't test it over here.

The Fazer was not showcased. Fz and R15 were. Hence the Fazer was "spotted" during trials!

fazer was spotted just few days before its launch. so no big deal. And even before it was spotted company disclosed its plan to launch a bike like that.

ekjaktly.... the fazer was "spotted" and not the fz16 but they tested it here after showcasing it at the auto expo as there were rumors of Yamaha putting a 165cc mill in the fz (correct me if i am wrong), and nobody knew the exact specification until it was launched in Sept 08.

I wish that someone residing near the Yamaha factory would "spot" the fazer 220/250 as well. Peace

i wish. but even in plant they hide bikes in such a way that except r&d guys no one is able to see the bikes. they have different section for the testing of which very few people have access.

Always felt that the FZ series needed a powerful mill to go with looks, really hope this comes true, maybe this launch will put Bajaj to shame and will force them to hurry and launch the Ninja
