Now this is a shocker to me.Never expected it so soon.
I hope it's Fi coz if the bike is remotely similar to the current FZ then i wonder what sort of mileage the bike will return.Still if the news is true, then it's wonderful move by Yamaha.Hope they dont disappoint in the power/price front.

ok, why is everybody saying it's 220-250 cc? maybe Yamaha will re-tune the same engine for high end torque and just add around 30 cubes here with water cooling and smaller sprocket at the rear or something?i mean i'm no techie just don't know where this 250cc figure come from?maybe yamaha is going the bajaj/tvs biz model of 150/180/ 220(maybe) cc bikes for same model. now that we have two 180 cc bikes here by our own manufacturers, it makes more sense to fully explore this category first. develop a torquey engine put it in fazer and fz on diwali. develop a chassis and marry this engine to it to produce a cruiser around new year...

No way yamaha wont release this so called 250cc bike this year...if they release it will be probably mid next year...if they release they easily kill R15
..which they dont want and the pricing will be outrageous for sure..if this bike has liquid cooling and fi this bike wont be cheap at all 1.5k+..then who will go for R15
for 1.1k..and i will be pissed if they release this now

I read about this in the auto industry update compilation that we get in the office....
220-250 cc was mentioned in the business standard news article.
now this throws a great big spanner in my works... another contender that I must now look out and wait for before making my decision...Torque nut in the land of horsepower worshippers.

Fazer was always known as sportier cum tourer bike, so people who prefer sport bike will always go for R15. Also if Fazer 250 cc will be realized than i see R15's price going down...Originally posted by goatiguru29 View Post

Lol! For every 100 people screaming in frenzy right now only 1 will be actually putting down their money when the actual bike releases. They will also be citing reasons such as over priced and not specced according to their wish etc as their reason for not buying.
Bike enthusiasts in India are a weird lot, we expect international products at Indian "engineering" prices. I hope Yamaha knows what they are doing with this. Cause imho this is certainly going to cost a bomb over the R15. The premium segment in India is a very nascent segment & i really doubt a lot of people will put down their money for this.
And i really doubt R15 prices going down since the bike isn't fully localised as yet. If yamaha goes through with this it will be more of a technology showcase and "who came out first" vis-a-vis the Ninja 250. I doubt this will compete directly with the p220 atleast with respect to tech & price.sigpic

John Abrahin is about to be signed as Yamaha's brand ambassador
Here is another shocker -according to my source(Yamaha dealer) John Abrahim has been signed as Yamaha brand ambassador & he would be officially launched for media next month along with 2-3 600cc & above bikes by Yamaha. But he also dose'nt even have any information about this new fazer250.But he has said that there were speculations about 200cc plus bike nearly festive season or may be in auto expo.Yamaha is on fire boss.

I don't think it would be the one in Bunny's blog because the FZ looks even snazzier than that bulk of a ride
