    Everything is good which sells!

Pricing would ideally be in the Discovers range but considering the fact that Bajaj regards Pulsar as its flagship brand, they might price it at a 1-2k premium.

Its not just that, the "smaller" bike has to have the essence of its "elder brothers".. despite being limited just to 15 Ps (thanks to European licensing laws), the YZF R125 still somehow manages to keep its "Super Sport" essence alive.. despite having a smaller heart.

the Honda CBF 125 (another 125 cc selling in Europe), (which is the same CBF Stunner PGM-FI in India) cannot be called a Honda Super Sport can it..??

From what is visible from the teaser site, this new Pulsar definitely seems to have the "Pulsar" essense at least in the Looks dept... now will have to wait if this bike can also pack in the Pulsar punch.

If the figures that you have quoted are true, then the Unicorn will surely get beaten fair and square. In fact the unicorn has a 13.5 Ps output which would be almost equal to or less than 13 bhp.

    Whoa....Dint know dat..
still wondering when these companies will start thinking about the power hungry bikers and start making bigger bikes.
They seem to think there are hardly any power bikers in 100crore population for them to make enough Gandhi's...

If Firebug is installed with your firefox, it will be much easier to find any details containing the web page. Just check the attached image. Just my 2 cents.

I agree it would translate into an increase in sales but it would harm the "premium" Pulsar brand for sure.

Moreover, if this is an indication of the bigger Pulsar series getting revamped, than its for sure, a good news!
Yes.. HHs dominance in that commuter segment!
Pulsar brand can still be the most VFM with a LOT of features in every category na.... they just need to position this pretty well....
So a commuter category pulsar with all the frills, but VFM
and a Premium Category Pulsar, with all the frills, but VFM

That is courtesy our Indian customer .. majority of whom (the buying bulk) can't afford such exorbitant differences in cc or power and of course the price.

Definitely a superb branding strategy by Bajaj. The needed something to counter sports commuter segment, dominated by CBF125. A Pulsar brand name will of course give it a edge.

So after all is a 4 Valve? And if it is, then I can already imagine the next 220 4Valve!

When the likes of Yamaha can scale down its Super Sport series from the 1000 cc YZF-R1, 600 cc YZF-R6 to the 125 cc YZF-125 and yet maintain its "Premium" image... then why not this..??

    1. We can review this sentence after 4 months (may be)...
    2. "Scaled-Down' ?? R1 has inline 4 cylinder ... R125 has single cylinder...

The YZF 125 makes just a Puny 15 Ps and weighs around 138 Kgs.. and yet its labelled as a Super Sport by Yamaha.

Its not just the "cc" or "Power" but the package you get in the bike and the kind of fun you have on it. And that's why the 15 Ps, YZF R125 gets labelled as a Super Sport bike.
