  • vipin, before the FZ hit the scene all the pulsars put together used to sell about 15 to 20K units a month excluding some higher bursts. TVS used to sell about 7 to 9 K RTR's a month then. not sure how it is now!

      Should be...

So 50K Pulsars in Nov'09 is great number, Bajaj wants to make 90K per month with the launch of P135.

        What that statement means...

In Oct2009 Bajaj sold ~55K Pulsars, In Nov2009 Bajaj sold 50K, so 6 months back Pulsar sales was just 20% of 55K which means Bajaj was selling 11K Pulsars (i.e. P150/P180/P200/P220) per month ONLY. This suggests Pulsar brand is not as strong as projected in media, one more conclusion I draw is Pulsar sells when refreshed and sales keep going down till the next refresh, this is the reason why Pulsar has 5 versions( Classic + 4 UGs)
I am sure this calculation is not correct. if it was 11k 6 months back, then 80% growth would have meant, 11k+ 8800 (80% of 11k) = 19800 and not 55K which it is at present.

Now, do people plz do your math to come to a figure 6 months back, if its 55k Now

        • I guess we have had enough of maths sessions in this thread.

@Hydbiker - Your calculation looks bang on.

          • @sumit: apologies from me and the mod team. Sometimes slips happen bro.

@all: It is often disgraceful how you all behave like kids on small issues, we should look on building each others knowledge, rather than nitpick on trivial things. So take care next time, otherwise we will have to to implement a stringent infraction system which will nowhere be as lenient as it is right now. And no bails.

              Snappy you corrected me It's about 30.5K (=55/1.8), 6 months back !! @ALL : Sorry for misleading .

              • 30K to 55K still is a very good progress, I assume/attribute the progress to the P220 DTS-i, which was launched 6 months back.

why the "still" in between. It IS fantastic.

But it is not just the 220. It is the 150 & 180 that started selling much more.

Does the same reason hold for Honda having 5 versions of the CITY?

Mr Vipin, Why are you making a scapegoat of yourself.Grow up.You are not getting anything by doing this. How hard you try to degradeBAJAJ/TVS , they will still continue to build bikes and there will be people who will put their money and continue buying them. And that applies to any manufacturer in India.

Btw, 5 days left for the Bike's official launch!!
